I'm worried some of these players will end up still not qualifying and we will find ourselves SOL. We're mainly getting many of these players because we can take partial qualifiers. Also makes me worry about the APR in the future. I don't know how justified that worry is.

So you're not on the "Trust in Coach Clark" boat?

I trust Clark. It's just a weird situation to be though in with a lot of questions.

If you trust Clark then you shouldn't be worried. Just sayin'.....
uab has been given an apr waiver for a few years. these guys have offers from other schools. the Nebraska player switched to uab because there was a good chance he wouldn't get much playing time. there is always a risk players don't make it and uab has a lot of time to make sure these players qualify

There is always a chance a player may not qualify. May be one other reason he's got so many offers out there. Even the Titanic sprung a small leak. Nothing is foolproof, but I'm sure he has a backup plan.
Also, I think there are a lot of folks ASSUMING these guys are partial qualifiers just because we are getting some big time commits. While some might be, I do not think that assumption holds true on most of these guys.
correct

Some of these guys will have any trouble qualifying. Better get used to having a real coach.
We're so used to idiots, stiffs, and losers, we're still trying to wrap our heads around Clark.
If I'm not mistaken there are no "partial qualifiers" coming from JUCO. Partial qualifiers are HS players who did not meet all requirements to get a NCAA scholarship(met GPA but not standardized test score, for example). When a HS player goes JUCO he must complete it and get his associate's degree before he can get an NCAA scholarship unless he was a full qualifier out of high school in which case he can transfer to a NCAA school w/o completing the AA degree. When a player goes from a NCAA college to JUCO, those rules also don't apply. He can leave the JUCO for another NCAA scholarship w/o getting the associates degree. I don't know how JUCO school work or previous NCAA school work plays into this(in terms of eligibility at his new school), though, other than he can still transfer in...

This.
Bottom line, we're now on the same footing as everyone else and carry the same risk
Well, we dropped to #48... with Texas at 46 and Oklahoma St. at 47.

That's a pretty good neighborhood to be in when you're talking recruiting.
our 2016 rankings are going to be skewed in our favor in the rankings. we get to sign 15 this month and 30 in feb. UAB will have 45 players in the class vs 25 for everyone else. that biased ranking should help with the next class as well because I doubt many HS recruits are going to look deeper than UAB had a top 50 recruiting class. with UAB has gone through every angle helps. I am reserving one of my off days for the signing party at Iron City

Thats true, but our present group of commitments is not bolstered by numbers. There are 21 hard commits in that ranking which is more than some schools but less than others.

Weve never had a list of commitments ranked anywhetr near this high. Most years we were lucky to have three 3 stars in a total class. This group has multiple 4 stars, and a dozen 3 stars.

Of course, its likely that all on the list wont sign, and even more likely that some wont make it to 2017, but there is no denying the overall upgrade in talent level.

We have almost a 2 deep Power 5 caliber front 7 defense committed, if you include Marino, and grow him and one of the other larger DEs into tackles over the next year and a half.

that's why I typed the words "are going to be skewed" instead of "are skewed".

Legitimate recruiting sites don't use volume to rank classes.
