Just curious how fellow CUSA schools classes are coming along today
ODU signed four, including a guy we've been recruiting for two years.

http://www.pilotonline.com/sports/colleg...71d15.html

Allasane Kah (6'9" Forward)
Quote:Originally from the Ivory Coast, Kah averaged eight points and six rebounds at Kilgore (Junior College) last season. Jones said Kah’s offensive skills, which include both 3-point range and a post-up game, “give us something we don’t necessarily have at that spot.

“He brings a lot to the table,” Jones said. “He’s got kind of well-rounded, certainly more mature offensive game than a high school kid.”

Tre Evans (6'2" Guard)
Quote:Evans, a 6-2 guard who originally committed to Oklahoma State, was not on ODU’s radar until relatively recently. He averaged 12 points last season and was rated the No.5 recruit in Oklahoma. “We’re thrilled that we able to get involved at such a late point and ultimately sign someone as talented as Tre Evans,” Jones said. “He’s athletic, he shoots it really well, he’s very good already with understanding how to use pick and roll situations, from an offensive standpoint.”

Xavier Green (6'6" Guard)
Quote:Green was a longtime target in the 2016 high school class who committed in September. He had offers from James Madison and East Carolina and interest from Power 5 conference schools. Jones said Green’s length and athletic ability make him "multi-dimensional." "He’s got a chance to be a really special player.”

Randy Haynes (6'4" Guard)
Quote:Haynes, a 6-foot-4 guard from New Mexico Junior College was a teammate of ODU’s Trey Porter at Potomac High in Dumfries. He averaged 5.7 points last season. “Randy is a winner; he’s a competitive kid. He’s got some toughness, those extra two years, and that maturity, I think, will allow him to come in and challenge for playing time right away.”

A few other tidbits about 2016:
Quote: Trey Porter (6'10") is sitting out this season as a transfer from George Mason. Also sitting this season are 6-6 Virginia transfer B.J. Stith and 6-9 Illinois transfer Austin Colbert. Combined with the four players signed Wednesday, they’ll make up what is essentially a seven-player class that will transform the roster next season.
WKU only signing 1 player this fall,3 star TJ Howard 6ft guard from Florida who chose us over Ole Miss and La. tech...
no one cares about basketball at north texas since benford was hired...we had one guy (Hollis) that was going to sign today, but he is choosing to wait until the spring...not that i blame him...coach is in peril...team sucks...no reason to hold yourself to one team when your stock is heating up...
Only one signee for Charlotte today. Quentin Jackson, who was a 4 star on 247 and 3 star on the other services. He had offers from several power conference programs.

Pursuing big men for our remaining scholarships, but we don't know how we stand with most of those guys. We were in the final two for a highly sought after PF, but he ended up signing with Tennessee.
Looks like we've got 2 commits today, both 3 stars:

6'8 F Tim Harrison and 6'2 G Ako Adams. Harrison had offers from Cal, Washington, UNLV, VCU, and New Mexico. Adams had offers from Charlotte, GW, ODU, DePaul, etc.
UAB is expected to sign guard Nate Darling from Hyattsville, Maryland tomorrow and guard Javien Williams from Woodlawn High in Birmingham on Friday.

I'm really happy we got Jackson. Hopefully Coach Price will continue to get good recruits.

A bit more on our 2 recruits.

Quote:Tim Harrison, a 6-8 forward, led Francis Parker School to a 17-7 record last year. The junior averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and three blocks to earn All-Coastal League honors. As a freshman, he was named second team All-Central League while playing at Christian High School. He was also named second team All-San Diego, first team All-League and CIF All-Academic Team. Harrison is rated a three-star athlete by Rivals, Scout and ESPN.

Quote:Ako Adams, a 6-2 guard, led Bishop O’Connell to a 20-11 overall record. He averaged 17.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists, while making 66 three-pointers. As a sophomore, he helped his team to the 2013 WCAC Championship, as well as the Alhambra Championship, where he was named second team All-Tournament. He is the eighth ranked player in the state of Virginia by MaxPreps. A three-star athlete by ESPN and Rivals, Adams was named first team All-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference and Washington Post All-Met Honorable Mention, while also being named team Most Valuable Player.
Rice is going to be good real soon.

Everyone is pretty excited about basketball. We lost our 4 star Josh Hall (had been comitted over a year) when he had to decommit for reasons unnamed or this class would've been even better, he ended up at Nevada. Sounds like we are looking to add one more PF type, 6'7-6'9 range before this class is done.

Weird, when Hall decommited, I figured some big program got in his ear. Surprised he ended up at Nevada.

He had offers from schools like Arizona before his verbal to Rice. Word was both sides wanted him at Rice but it just didn't work out...
Allasane Kah, one of ODU's signees, was committed to WKU at one point.

Some high praise for Jackson:

Quote:Price is certainly no stranger to point guard play, and he has a good one to work with committed to the 49ers in the class of 2016 in Quentin Jackson. Jackson is the best commit to any Conference USA program thus far in the class.

He is the son of former NC State guard Quentin Jackson Sr. who played against Mark Price in the 80's.
Tech's 3 signees:

Jalen Harris 6'5" 185 PG from Duncanville, Tx - Had offers from UTEP, Florida Gulf Coast, Utah State, Tulsa, UTA, Texas State, UNT, Furman, Duquesne

Oliver Powell 6'8" 3* PF from Rowlett in Garland, Texas - Had offers from Kansas State, Rice, SMU, UTA, William & Mary, Illinois-Chicago, Chatanooga

Jakolby Pemberton 6'4" SF from Lancaster in Dallas, Tx - Had offers from USM, Tulane, Central Michigan, Southern
