I believe there is a lot of pressure on Campbell and staff. Not only to win but to win by a sizable margin. Failure is not a option. UT must play very well defensively and put pressure on their QB because I believe there are issues with the offense with the exception of the running game. Ely must have a steady game and quiet the critics. The receivers must catch the ball consistently. This could be a start of a 3 game winning streak and possibly be selected to a stronger bowl (if there is enough power 5 teams qualifying for a bowl) outside of the 5 the MAC is contracted to.

I think Toledo (or at least Ely) will play more loosely. I think CMU will feel the pressure of the big game more, especially if they don't have success right away.
well - we've proven once again we can pull our own choker leash as the game goes on....

The most unlikely of the things you mentioned is the only one that happened. Only one dropped ball that I can remember tonight! Ely looked absolutely terrible after the first 6 passes, and this game was anything but a "margin" win. More like a "marginal" win.

Why would there be pressure on the staff to win by a sizable margin? That makes no sense to me. You really think that the staff and players consider tonight a failure? Maybe your expectations are unrealistic if you consider it a failure when we win a close game on the road to a top team in our conference.

CMU lost to a ranked undefeated Oklahoma State by 11 points.
Had Vest nailed the two easy Field Goals Toledo would have won with an 11 point margin and equalled Oklahoma State University's performance against CMU.
This could have impressed allot more voters and counted towards a better Bowl bid.
I thought that was an interception by Toledo towards the end? Next thing I know they're calling it incomplete and CMU still has the ball...

Had Kareem Hunt been unleashed earlier on the game would have never been close.
You cannot miss two easy Field Goals and stall your running game and be considered an elite team.

Good news Toledo won and covered the spread which will impress some voters.
Congratulations Toledo has won 6 straight over CMU.
No injuries.
Bad news:
Had Toledo played this way against BGSU they may have lost.
BGSU and WMU may be harder teams.

Toledo after beating Arkansas and Arkansas State deserve to get 10 wins and a share of the MAC West title.

I never expected Vest to miss two easy FG.
Had also hoped to see more rushing yards from Toledo's offense and less pass interference calls.

Congratulations again Toledo on beating CMU. Something NIU really appreciates.
Lets win out and share the MAC WEst.
Hunt is good. Very good. Really gotta use him more. Honestly, Swanson looks very good too.
I'm at peace with all the stupid things we did to keep the game close. I'm sure the guys here are gonna have all that covered. We imposed our will upon CMU early to place a deficit upon them that they could never completely recover from. We pulled it together and won the 4th quarter. That hasn't happened a whole lot this year. I'm very irritated that our INT was not reviewed, and that's coming off similar irritation from last week when Golladay's TD catch was not reviewed. How are questionable scoring/possession plays not being reviewed when it's 2015? NIU got to wind the clock last week on an accepted holding penalty against the Huskies that allowed them to go to victory formation. Toledo in a similar situation tonight had a holding penalty called, except the clock was then stopped. Is it because the play resulted in a TD? Which one was right?

I see you are still not at peace with the NIU game.
Does this mean we have an NIU-Toledo rivalry?
I'm not at peace with being in the MAC where we have to deal with things like that week after week, year after year, on weekday nights, while perennial bottom feeders eat away at the strength of schedule and strength of victory of the entire conference, without anyone actually watching. As for the rivalry thing, I've never had to go to work the morning after to the tune of reminders of what happened by Obnoxious NIU grad before, or the other way around, really. I've never even been to NIU's stadium (one of 2 MAC home locations I can say that about). I've never even been to the town that NIU is situated in. I've never had to experience the horrible smell of driving through said town after forgetting to hit the 'recirc' button on my way to (comparably) real cities like Findlay, Dayton, or Mansfield, like I do with our traditional rival. So long story short, no not really, still needs lots of work!
