Not sure where you live, but my house was damn near water front during the storm that hit us while Joaquin was pounding the Bahamas

There were quite a few pictures posted on Wavy10 that people were sending in.

I manged to snap a few pictures of people boating down the streets.
Even watched a car slowly float away.

Needless to say I will be moving away from Hampton Roads after graduation.
If he wants to impress me, he'd give this speech at Regent.
All these political comments...

I think he is coming to ODU in hopes of scoring tickets to the bball game Friday or football on Saturday. he thought an in person chat would help his chances!

Are you basing that on anything besides the movie?

In all seriousness, Hampton Roads is next inline after NOLA for being at risk from the sea.

I'm basing it on the "scientific consensus" Al Gore started peddling 15 years ago. Here on the Peninsula, where the ground is sturdy and we didn't build on a swamp, I can confirm that the sea level is exactly where it was 36 years ago.

John Kerry......He sure has a lot in common with the average working man. Somehow I think this silver spoon yes man is only going to say what someone tells him to say. 03-puke

That's nothing new. Paul Ehrlich claimed in 1972 that the Arctic would be ice-free by the year 2000.

But the modern doomsday prophets are a little smarter. If they push it out to the year 2100, they won't be around to answer the questions when it doesn't come true.
Even thought I think Climate Change is real and man is a cause even if I'm wrong why not do what we can to alleviate what we do cause.

I really hate the knee jerk "no compromise, hate all government, science" rhetoric.
I know I am way more politically liberal than most on this board but since the "climate change" of just plain respect and consideration of others opinions everywhere makes me suggest that this discussion should not be on a sports message board. Take it to the "off topic" thread, please.
Good topic and important topic, and a thread that has been repeated often on multiple forums with multiple viewpoints. I have my opinions, as do many here, and most of us are fairly entrenched in our position on both sides; however, as new data and research appear in the news almost weekly, I hope this topic thrives and discussion continues - as policy, funding, etc. are all being crafted in response to this issue, affecting us all.

Moved to Off-Topic.
