We should be proud of our crowd. My wife is a BG grad and I said we should've taken the family and doubled the attendance there tonight. She said she already has season tickets . . . in Toledo.
To be fair to BG, the game against Ohio did not mean as much to them as what the NIU game meant to UT. It's even less of a rivalry than the non rivalry with NIU
I guess at this point it is easier to talk about what happened in the stands than dwell on what happened on the field. Yes Toledo had a remarkable crowd of over 23,000 for a 8:00 pm start on a weeknight and a national TV audience to boot. Many of these were probably casual fans that came out to see what all the Rocket hype this year was about, and they certainly found out. As was pointed out by another poster, by laying an egg in front of this near full house, the Rockets missed a golden opportunity to perhaps grow their fan base a bit by hooking a few "casual fans".

On the other hand, although I have not seen the numbers, I gather that the BG crowd was a "bit of a disappointment". However, unlike the 23,000 Rocket fans who left the stadium disappointed, the few BG fans who did show up were amply rewarded and presumably left their stadium impressed and pleased because their team left no doubt that they can take care of business by slaughtering an Ohio team (once thought to be their main challenge in the MAC East) to the tune of 63-24. It appears the the Falcons have improved since their early loss to Tennessee whereas as the Rockets have regressed since their early win against Arkansas.

Frankly, if it were possible I would be very happy to have switched crowds with BG this week if we could have also switched outcomes with them as well.
