Guess we have to worry about Jim Nabors dying then.
I talked to the athletics office just now. Said tonight's game wouldn't be on the radio. I asked what station games would be on and that because of rumored changes no one knows where to catch the games. Was told its handled by IMG and said she would contact IMG and have them publicize the radio station via social media and others...

Nope Don Ho

Already dead.

Jim Nabors is a long time Hawaiian resident and Alabama native.
I knew Ho was dead, didn't know Nabors was Hawaiian did know he was from AL.

Good...glad we are all now on the same page.

I consider this a major upgrade for UAB Sports on local radio...

I don't listen to country music, but I've been checking out the reception of this station in Shelby County. So far it's been quite good.

99.5 recently became the new Nashville Icon station in B'ham. The hula thing was a filler during the transition from the old Rock99 to the 103.7 The Q knock-off it briefly transformed into.

I was in Pell City this weekend. No reception issues there.
Two decades ago, when this was my station of choice, I remember it coming in clear as far as Decatur and Fort Payne. I think y'all will be very pleased.

Coincidentally, Tony Kurre made his mark on B'ham radio on 99.5.
We're on a COUNTRY station now!? Hoo boy. The only positive I can see coming out of this is that Nash Icon might sponsor a Sam Hunt concert for the return of football. Other than that, I hope the format tanks and Blaze Radio is able to take over in 2017!
Still nothing official announced yet?
I guess we'll know for sure when/if at the AU game
I don't listen to 107.7 nor 99.5 except for UAB games or channel surfing. As long as it's a good signal, I dont.
