10/17/2009 - NIU 19 TOL 20

2209
The night Barry Church hit Chandler Harnish after the whistle and nearly ended his career.
yeesh, that was like three coaches ago. it was soooo long ago
And yet I still have so much hate for what they did to us in the prior decade. So much hate.

The game that I can't forget is the 70-21 beating in 2007. The Fat Guy didn't hesitate to run up the score on Joe Novak.

Even though we keep beating them year after year, it's NEVER enough.

That certainly is a long time. We have something similar going with BGSU. I kind of wish NIU had to play BGSU every year like us. It would certainly be a much better home game for attendance at NIU. We certainly have a harder MAC schedule with them included and playing NIU every year.

Sitting in the parking lot listening to Bill Baker on the radio during a wedding reception...many moons ago

Even worse than running up the score, he seemed to try to rub coach Novak's nose in it by rolling out crazy formations and plays when the game was out of reach. I think that it really got under Joe Novak's skin because he had so much respect for the game.

Like you, I have not forgotten and I think that it got to Bill Baker as well. His Goodbye Toledo calls have an element of F you Toledo, F you Toledo to them. Baker is a classy guy who would never admit that.

We do. In the MAC championship.

Remember this memory. College football is so cyclical that its all but inevitable that Toledo will eventually have a winning streak against us. eventually.

Nothing against BGSU, but I don't think it'd make that much of a difference in our home attendance.
