TOO BAD THIS GAME ISN'T PLAYED ON A SATURDAY!!!!!
(There would be more people here....)

or,

WE LIKE SATURDAY GAMES BETTER!!!!!!
i would bring it but I'm not coming.
It's on a Tuesday.
Several comments on the main site's FB page complaining.

Yeah Terry. but, but, but, what if it's too cold, what if we might miss some of the big school state game or worse yet, the SNL monologue, and what if the pizza slices are no bigger than doritos ?? 03-hissyfit
- Yeah, and don't forget we are playing a MAC game, and we all know how the Toledo area supports the Rockets in the MAC !! - Lest we forget, everything is too dang expensive...03-banghead

Fan apathy rears it's ugly head again !! 03-banghead
Betcha if bg or o$u were in town, you would be in attendance !!
I wouldn't put this into the "apathy" catagory. It could be legitimately not doable. Figure core Rocket fandom not that much bigger than GB capacity in the first place, getting 20K is an accomplishment. Until they can count LOCAL fandom near 100,000, I don't think you can expect to see filled GB on any day of the week.
We may dislike these week night games but doing the math...

Say we have an additional 5,000 for a Saturday game as opposed to a Tuesday night game. Each of these people purchased a ticket at approximately $25 each. This gives the athletic department a boost of $125,000

The most recent deal with ESPN factors out to about $670,000 per school--or $167,500 per game over four November football games. In a good year, Toledo and few other schools can likely make up the difference in other areas (suites, sponsorships, etc) but most schools would be hard-pressed to compete once November arrives and thoughts turn to basketball.

My banner says: "I hate math!"

Do I like math? No! But it is what it is.

Well, the real reason is that I have a mediation in federal court in Columbus tomorrow at 8:30am. And Tuesday night football present difficulties with the real world.
