Can we maybe get a little excitement going? For a program that prides itself on basketball tradition there isn't much chatter....
Why? I hear all our hoops fans are also SEC football fans. That's dirty money IMO
I want to be excited, with the Lawsons on board an all. But Pastner has all but gutted the program and most supporters are either more enamored with Pastners personality and image or are saying gut the basketball team so we can throw more money at the football team. Midnight madness was cancelled and the roster turnover is such we really don't know half of the players who will play tis year. If there s little excitement about Tiger Basketball this year, the only ones to blame are the fans and school officials who apparently have decided to sacrifice basketball for football success.

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about football, but we don't have to gut basketball to have success on the football field. But that doesn't seem to be the majority sentiment around here.
We are trying to enjoy a new tradition called football. It is football season and we have an undefeated team. Enjoy.
No sense trying to start "something" about basketball. Let them play a few games and then those on the board who wish to, can begin commenting/complaining about what our coach is doing or not doing with them. At the end of the season (basketball), I expect those that have the where with all will decide if a new direction is needed.

That's it! Let's just not discuss it and maybe it will go away !!!'
If:
We get the Shaq from the second half of last year,
And enough guard play from Tarrant, Crawford, and company to let Woodson come in for limited minutes,
And the Lawsons are as good as advertised,
And we can get some production from Marshall,
And if Burrell gets enough touches,
(and who knows about Kedren?)
Then I think 20+ wins is possible. Steal a couple we're not "supposed" to win and it could be better.
Can't blame the talent or the schedule.
Beat Southern Miss and we'll see how things look. Could be a pretty good season, could be a disaster.
Truly, this year I expect everything and nothing.

Absolutely. Perfectly stated.

Agree. But surely the Coach has a lot to do with the tepid atmosphere. Many of us have come to expect an underachieving basketball team.

There's a lot to like about Pastner, but he's left a lot undone, too.
I hope they do well. They need to come out flying and string some wins together to generate buzz.

Beating Oklshoma would go a long way. If they struggle with inferior teams and lose to any top 35-40 team they play he season will be about as exciting as warm, stale beer.

How do you keep doing it?
Nobody doesn't think this often- I hear anyway.
And also taking a simple thread and starting ish again.
My God, man.
Can you even figure out how to fall asleep?

I can't figure out who is in what division in the ACC. Does this upset you?

Dedric is going to need to be Sean Banks for the most part - maybe not as dominant, but a reliable contributor in a few areas.

I don't believe Shaq has leadership tendencies, but can be the second or third best player.

Markel is going to be good this year.

Tarrant just needs to stay healthy.

Burrell could be the best all around player on the team.

I posted what the guy originally posted in that thread. You jumped the gun and went fan bashing, which is your usual post. You need to be figuring out your new screen name when Josh is gone after this season.
expect the expected

Agreed. And hopefully the discussions will be about the games, and not devolve into pro and anti Pastner chatter. That's been done here to death. Everybody has their opinions set and there's no point anymore.
Has anybody gotten their tickets yet?!?!

I called the ticket office and they told me they got em mixed up and to call back next week.

Not fan bashing. You guys that trash the program and start ish in completely innocent threads are the fan bashers/program bashers and completely unglued from any degree of normal, sensible, everyday civilized, respectful perspective.
