if you for whatever reason lose rhule to another job would you consider rehiring al golden

for those not familiar: al golden resurrected the temple program, matt rhule is a seed of golden

obvious cons: he already left once, he wasnt successful is his other job

the reason to consider: he did resurrect temple, the miami definition of failure was a regular 8/9 win team that is pure gold at temple

and it gives temple a chance at a long time successful coach..the miami debacle will keep every major p5 away from him..and like Louisville you can add unrealistically crazy buyouts like 10 mill in his contract and he cant say a thing about it. you can have a coach that no matter how successful he is, he is there to stay

going back into being a buttom feeder can be really easy with a bad hire at temple

opinion?
No. Al rebuilt Temple because he had a plan and was a great recruiter. Ask any Temple fan, he wasn't that good of a game day coach.
No
Difficult hypothetical. All that has been previously mentioned is true: Golden resurrected the football program; he and D'Onofrio were very good recruiters; and he's not a good game day coach and was not a very good game day coach at TU. Frank Solich used to eat his lunch.

It sounds harsh, but I would say the answer would depend on whatever else might be available at the time. And in any case, TU shouldn't hire him any time in the near future.

Even taking into account UM's negatives (mediocre facilities, probation), Golden appeared over his head at UM. Maybe burned out. I think he will need some time.
Jim's Steaks- South Street Upstairs not downstairs, correct?
It's not a difficult hypothetical in the slightest. Love Coach, and proud of what he did here, but he's not a great gameday coach. We needed someone to build our program, and that's what he did. He left the program in great position going forward.

You do not re-hire someone who recently left you for another school. It would be one thing had he been here for 15 years or something and wanted to give the NFL a shot and it didn't work out. We have a better HC and a much better DC than Onofrio (no D).

We have an administration that is all-in, and while we don't have the money to hire a Harbaugh, Gruden, or Chip Kelly kind of coach, there are a lot of top-notch candidates who would be very interested in what Temple is building for $1.5M a year.
