So how are you feeling about your team so far?

I would say you have two more W's coming up. How do you feel about BUGS and NIU?

November is a gauntlet for us. We've got:
Northern
The Chimps
BUGS
And You's
BGSU scares me. Their passing game is tight, and our secondary has a terrible habit of giving up big plays. They're inconsistent.

NIU doesn't really scare me, but they're still a solid team and the game's in DeKalb.

It would take a perfect game for us to beat Toledo in the glass bowl.

We have a very talented team, but it sometimes looks like motivation is an issue (GASO and Miami games). Broncos have the ability to make a run, but it's a tough road ahead.
I was going to say the same thing C.
BUGS is awful good, no question. They are to us what the chimps are to you. We have to go in there this year. They say throw away the stats in a rivalry game, so we'll see. We have some issues, too, but somehow we seem to be overcoming...so far.

Ya gotta give Huskies their due. They seem to find a way to win.

It could be for all the marbles on the 11/27. Hopefully you all can come on down.
I really hope both WMU and Toledo go undefeated until we face each other, because it not only means that NIU's reign is over, but the last game of the season will be one for the history books!
BGSU is going to be really tough but I think we can beat them by controlling time of possession.

I really like our odds against NIU on the road. Still going to be a tough game but we are the better team right now.

Definitely a chance for both of us playing for the MAC West title on November 27. I hope it comes down to that, would be epic.
IMO, BGSU is the best team in the MAC. Beyond merely my own opinion, they have by far the best Offense in the MAC. Kent State had one of the better Ds in the country (shown on ESPN during their game against BGSU), and BGSU scored at will on them.

Our D isn't capable of stopping BGSU too well (nor are most Ds), but our O is capable of trading blows. I'm glad it's at home, gives us a slight edge, but I see that being the #1 most assured loss out of the big 3 games.

Toledo's O can be shut down. It can get the ball rolling, but it can also be shut down. Their D though, can shut just about anyone down as well. It's @Toledo, so that's a kick in the balls to us.

NIU? Their O is getting the ball rolling. Look out. Their D can shut folks down, but it can also give up points, too. It's @NIU, so another kick in the balls. Even when we beat CMU, we aren't CMU who has NIU's number.

I see us in our gauntlet of those 3 games, going 1-2. I would NOT be shocked (but will/would be disappointed) if we go 0-3. I WILL be solidly surprised if we go 2-1, but not completely shocked. I'm prepared for 1-3 *at this point* looking ahead.

Our next two games we Should win -- and depending how we play and the other big 3 play, I may be siding stronger with 0-3 or possibly 2-1, who knows.

Pretty much sums up exactly how I feel and what I think will happen. Going to be a dogfight down the stretch between the top group (WMU, Toledo, NIU, CMU, BGSU).
Todd, you're wrong as usual

Thanks for your sweet analysis. Where am I wrong on it? You think we're superior to all 3 teams, and will go 3-0, and Maybe an unfortunate 2-1 if bad luck gets in our way?

I agree on time of possession. That is the downfall of Falcon fast. They can go three and out fast just as they can score really fast. It's all about tempo. If you keep their offense off the field they don't get in that rhythm, and they start to press.
I think NIU will sneak up on people. NIU replaced 3 guys on the offensive line and struggled with that early. The O-line is starting to get going, and if we have Jordan Huff at RB some of the time we have a bigger chance at a big play. Tommy Lee Lewis is starting to get into a groove at WR. The question will be whether we can get pressure on the QB. That didn't matter in the last 3 games but it will from here on out. The running D has been pretty solid but the passing D is the question.

The bodes well against Toledo, but not so great against WMU that can go all-pass when the running game's only good for 3rd-and-1. And certainly doesn't bode well against BGSU -- who you don't have to face (regular season anyway).

Yea if NIU was to win the West I'm not optimistic about our chances against MJ and company. I'm not sure anybody in the MAC can keep up with that offense, but we'll see when Toledo plays them.
