....this year. I don't know what the chances are of the AAC champ making the playoff, but I know if Temple beats Notre Dame, and plays an undefeated Houston/Memphis school in the championship, I believe that team will be hovering around in the top 10 somewhere at season's end

With enough help, and the right teams losing, who knows...
If it unfolds like that, the conference champ will be hovering around in the Top 5.

Depends on who is left....it would help if Notre Dame went on to beat Stanford, and then Stanford won the PAC 12

Agree
If Olé Missed beats aTm today, Memphis will move into the top 15...should be top 10-12 by the Navy game
The American has made some of those "experts" sit up and take notice this season.
It has the coaches noticed , too. It is impressive, just the same.

Yeah I was going to say a rank around 10, especially if Memphis goes unbeaten, would be an insult. Same for Temple if they beat ND.
Not bad for the ignored and dismissed patched up shell of the old Big East.
Love the AAC. Hope after a new AD and a new head football coach to see Tulane football in the top 25 consistently soon!
All speculation, since the only poll in the nation that matters isn't going to be released until Nov 3rd. Hopefully the PO Committee will give the American teams their just due.

The conference is especially impressive given that two teams - UC and UCF - who have been powers over the last five or more years are having relative (big time, in UCF's case) down years. Each of the undefeated teams have very good out of conference wins, but it speaks volumes when the middle of the conference - UC, USF, etc - have P5 scalps.
O'Leary is just confused, he's playing for the first pick in the draft.

The AAC is not anything resembling the old Big East. Only USF, UCONN and Cincinnati are the holdovers from actual Big East competition.

I'm not exactly sure what your point is posting this? He's clearly stating it's not the same thing as he calls it the "patched up shell of the old Big East", yet we are indisputably the continuation of Big East football if not in name. It's like you're trying to correct someone who clearly doesn't need correcting.

We keep this up, may be the time to strike at BYU, CSU, Air Force, etc...lock this conference down and focus on additions, not leaving. Be a player vs a call up league.

Additionally the TV deal has worked wonders for the conference...I haven't missed an ECU game yet, always on the TV! It has to be helping in multiple ways.
Who do you cheer for if FSU plays LSU?
