SAN MARCOS, Texas (Oct. 21, 2015) – Time Warner Cable SportsChannel, Texas State Athletics and its athletics multimedia rights holder, Learfield Sports' Texas State Sports Properties, announced its live sports coverage plans for Texas State football.

On Saturday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. (central), Time Warner Cable SportsChannel will debut its live coverage of the Bobcats, when they take the field against South Alabama. ESPN3 also will air the game in areas outside of San Antonio and Austin.

"Continuing to grow our brand and showcase our great University is a very important part of what we are trying to accomplish as an Athletics Department. Time Warner Cable is a great partner to showcase the Bobcats," said Texas State University Associate Athletic Director Don Coryell.

Time Warner Cable also will cover Texas State athletic events into the basketball season. The schedule of these games is still being determined between the Sun Belt Conference and Texas State Athletics.

"This partnership continues to provide great visibility for the university and its fan base, and we're excited to work closely with a trusted industry partner in Time Warner Cable," said Texas State Sports Properties General Manager Rick Medina.

Time Warner Cable SportsChannel is a 24/7 network that carries distinct regional programming on different channel locations across the nation. It is Texas's home for comprehensive local sports content, including FC Dallas live games and programming, and can be found in HD on channel 323 across the state exclusively to Time Warner Cable customers.
That is some great news . . . BobcatFans had a thread a little while back saying that a BIG announcement was coming. . . . wonder if this was it . . . .
I saw this. Think it's great but it came now that I'm outside the broadcast area.03-banghead

They need to get something going with San Marcos based Grande Communications.

. . .aint it always the way? . . . .

I'm just jazzed to get more coverage on my TV, as opposed to the 4 letter3 on the 'puter . . .
Yup. It's incredible news.

Now we just need to put a good product on the field/court for people to watch.

That's great news for your program!

FWIW, Rutgers University doesn't even have its own sports channel that displays games. They are in the Big 10 with no competing schools battling for their local services. This is a major reason why fans can't even see their local team on TV unless they have the big10 network.

Great news for TXST!!!!
This is the 3rd straight year of this deal with TWC, always being announced around this time.

And just like last year, everyone thinks it's new...

By all means, share a link.

This is new. We have never had a deal with TWC for coverage in San Antonio
OK I went back and checked and I was mistaken.

We had deals with KXAN/KBVO in Austin the past two seasons, not specifically with TWC.

What channel to be exact?

I can say in Austin, this is true... San Antonio and other areas? I dunno about them.
Not sure if this has anything to do with the TWC deal but the game has been blacked out on ESPN3 for me..... Dammit

Anyone else have the same problem?

I think it does have something to do with it. Other folks are noting the same issue on bf.com
Good deal. We have our Basketball television network on Time Warner Sports Channel in Kansas City.
Great news for TXST!

Congratulations!
I hate it. I have Att UVese and can't watch the game on espn3 due to the blackout. Stupid BS.
