From your last post over on the rooting interest thread you're so right, we're the obnoxious ones.

Sadly, for the normal GSouth folks, some of you are pretty darn proud of it.
I don't understand how we're #30 with our defense the way it is
Be pretty sweet for GaSo if they could knock us off this week and crack the top 25. Not sure if we could climb enough to get top 25 if we were to win, but maybe get a couple of votes would be cool.
So if we win our next two and the Dawgs drop one to UF we will be ranked higher going into the game in Athens...07-coffee3
After 25 its all just a crapshoot anyways.
Sagarin rating's have the SBC like this:

62: Appy
65: GaSo
89: stAte
118: ULL
130: USA
141: ULM
142: Troy
147: TxSt
156: VANDALS
168: GSU
183: NMSU

May your travels to the Dome be equally filled with adventure as our recent trip to Alabama.

The chance of that happening is less than zero. Even if GaSo blew your doors off, they wouldn't be ranked. I doubt they'd even get votes.
I actually think that's low for UGA but also extremely high for us.

We received a couple of votes before our Navy game last year, but I think it would take a 90-0 type of beat down to be ranked after this week...which we all know ain't happening.

Now, if we beat UGA are still only have one loss? Definitely possibility depending on how many games they lose between now and then.
UGA is off with one spot ahead of us in this poll.

App is still respected and would be a great win for us.
It might be enough to slide us ahead of UGA.

USA today has us 13 spots behind the dawgs. (27/40)

Sagarin means less to me than these polls. I remember passing UGA on that scale in the past.

I think the Coach's poll moved UGA back to the top 25 this week.

So they are ranging from 25-29
We are ranging from 30-40.

The major point here is that we are narrowing the gap.
I think that even in this poll, if any of us get that close to our in state SEC program, we are going to be at least a little proud of it. And considering that this is so close to the edge of the top 25, it isn't a stretch to be excited about it.

App State is the biggest obstacle between us and entering Athens with a higher rank than uga.

We have to beat App State. It is what is best for the Conference, No?

Didn't we receive one pre-season this year?

Those ranking seem much more realistic on the whole and I'm not saying that just because App is ranked above GaSo. You can swap those two for all I care.
I get that it's pointless to whine about these rankings, but seriously -- Idaho has more wins than Troy and beat them in Troy. Why are we below them in all the rankings?

You received a few votes due to your close games earlier in the season. You don't have that to pad your resume this year. Toledo didn't get ranked immediately after beating two P5 teams, and their regular schedule is considered much, much stronger than yours (all of ours, by virtue of being in the Belt) in addition to the big wins. It's going to take a hell of a lot more than a P5 win for a Sun Belt team to be ranked, and they drop out with their first conference loss. Sad fact of bein' in the Belt (and the G5 in general).

You realize, even if you enter the game "ranked higher" than Georgia, they'll still be at least -14 on you, right? Real rankings are pretty meaningless... CBS 128 rankings are REALLY meaningless in the grand scheme of things.
