Controlling destiny in following order. I guess Toledo could be further down the list considering Temple beating ND and Memphis and Houston would be extremely impressive. But chance of actually winning out has to be in play.

Memphis
Toledo
Houston
Temple

Yep. That win today was big for Memphis. They beat the #13 team, but in Memphis...probably puts them at least a spot if not a couple ahead of us. Really hoped that they would lose today, and then help us out by beating Houston...and Temple will lose to at least one of those two. But now, I think even Houston may have a bit better shot than us if they beat Memphis and win out, even if we win out.

Still, I never expected UT to be in this conversation at all, so it's still fun!
There's no way a 2-loss team makes the Fiesta Bowl. That eliminates BG and Boise St.
it's a 4 team race

Agree---but there is still a lot of football to be played and a single loss by any one of the four (with the possible exception of a close loss by Temple to ND) will drop them out of contention for the access bowl bid assuming at least one of the four can finish the year undefeated.

All Toledo can do is continue to win the games on its own schedule. OTOH, the other three will be playing one another and in that sense control their own destiny because if any one of those 3 AAC teams manages to go undefeated, they will likely get the access bowl invitation over an undefeated Toledo team.
Memphis and temple play each other I believe
Saw part of the Temple game last night and they looked terrible, had to come from behind in the 4th to beat a winless UCF team.
Temple, Memphis, and Navy all still have a round robin in that AAC West division. Temple still plays Notre Dame and Memphis, but they could lose to anyone remaining on their schedule. They have struggled vs Umass and UCF now. Im actually hoping Cincy wins out and takes that division. I think they have the best chance to knock off a potential undefeated west team in the AAC championship.

We played terribly, and would've won 37-16 if not for a ****** holding call at the end of the game.

You've barely beaten two of the worst FBS teams. The eye test says Temple should lose a few from here on out. We play UMass this week for a direct road comparison with the Owls.

6-0 is 6-0. I don't really care.

I don't really care either. What teams records are now dont mean much in December. It's only my two cents on how good Temple is. IMO they are a middle tier AAC team.

Well now you're just being ridiculous.

Houston.

Remaining Tough Games

I like how JHG has passion for his team. Temple is 6-0. I get it. UCF was a stumbling block to take note of. Temple will have to beat ND to quiet the nay sayers. Temple's past will haunt them. What I mean by that is, Temple struggled while in the MAC. Just by being a member of AAC does not give automatic legitimacy. Toledo is a MAC school, we feel and contend with this this adversity also. If Toledo were to line up against Temple, I would take Toledo by 14. This is just my 2 cents.
Why would I not be passionate about my alma mater? I'm not sure what being in the MAC previously has anything to do with anything this season. If your point is we're unlikely to get additional consideration for anything because of our mostly bad history, sure. Short of going winless the rest of the way, it will have been an excellent season. This is not a one year thing for us. This is about continuing to build our program to sustain success like Boise has, and put ourselves in position to join the ACC if and when conference expansion next occurs.
That's all fine. I got reemed for being on the AAC board to support my team. I get standing up for your team. I respectfully disagree that Temple is even a top 4 AAC team. Time will tell. I have Temple pegged for 4 losses.

That Temple game is gonna be a tough one for Temple. Best case scenario is they go .500 in a home and home. Worst case...same.
I think Toledo will be helped by the Stony Brook non game. Strength of schedule will be improved. Thoughts?
