It's probably in the best interest as a conference for OU, BG, and Toledo to win this week.

The conference is very deep as we all know, and this could be the best season for our conference in a while. It reminds me of our 7 bowl team season in 2012. We had some rough matchups that year, but our 6 and 7 teams CMU and OU won their games. I believe we can have 7 deep that are competitive liniearly through the G5 and bottom of P5.

It's sucks to say that Akron and WMU wins should show depth... but they will most likely shoot down any props that the MAC could get before the post season.

Toledo
OU
BG
NIU

WMU
Akron
CMU

Ball State
Buffalo
Kent

These are not rankings per value, but in categories as in who should/could get bowl eligible this season. I see many wins come December.
Good thing nobody cares about what is in the best interest of the MAC, and they just want to win their damn football games.
OU apparently forgot what was good for the conference today.
The only thing in the best interest to the conference is Toledo continuing to win. There is nothing else that would generate national interest or additional "props".
BG can be a top 25 team with their offense. They have the wins in OOC to back them up as at least a topic of interest
BG has already lost twice. They will never be a top-25 team this year, no matter what they do the rest of the way.
BG's losses are to Memphis and Tennessee. I could see them get ranked, but not in an access bowl.

The Tennessee loss is going to sting pretty hard unless both the Volunteers and BGSU win out the rest of their seasons. The Memphis loss, on the other hand, is looking very good right now. BG only lost 41-44, and Memphis just took out #15 Ole Miss pretty handily.

I could see BG getting ranked if they win out, but nothing before that. At this point I just hope they spoil Toledo the same way they spoiled NIU a few years back.
BG has the number 1 or 2 O in the country. They will start to get votes soon.

Sucks when that happens. It must sting to have the same W-L record in-conference as lowly Kent State.

And it might not be in the conference's best interest, but it could be that Kent State's defense is of a mind to keep Kent State in reach of a win for some of the other games coming up this season. It might not be the pinball football that ESPN is hoping to brighten up November weekday nights, but it could well be in Kent State's best interest.

BG got one vote in the same coaches poll where we just jumped from 25 to 20.

Only way they get there is by beating Toledo...

Maybe the 28-22 win over Buffalo wasn't impressive enough.

It doesn't work that way.
I watched Temple pull it out against ECU last night...they are still undefeated. Gonna come down to UT and the 3 AAC undefeated (at present) teams for New Year's bowl access slot.If both Memphis and UT win out, I think it'd be Memphis...if it's Houston and UT, hard to say. Obviously if the AAC teams knock each other off and all have one loss and UT remains undefeated, it would look very promising for them to get the slot.

Depends on what BG does...

If BG runs the table (with the exception of a Toledo Loss) and they end up in the MACC then maybe... But if the AAC is a ranked 12-0 team and a ranked 12-1 team forget it, the AAC has it locked up.

A 10-2(7-1) Ohio with wins over Marshall, NIU and BGSU would be a better matchup for Toledo in Detroit than a 9-3(7-1) BGSU that has already played Toledo and lost.

With that being said, I have zero confidence in Ohio winning out.
It sure ain't seeing Toledo getting creamed by UMASS so far today. What a bummer!
It would be in the MAC's best interest for UT's QB to stop throwing picks. Maybe take a sack instead making ill advised throws.
Axeme: I have watched some of UT's games eaerlier in the year, and usually Ely is a very accurate QB...not today!
