UAB President's State of the University Address is Monday 10-19-15, 4:00-5:30pm, hosted by the Faculty Senate at the UAB Alumni House.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Watts resignation whispers around the senior research side of the university are heating up again ... but it is unsure if the announcement will be made around the time of the address or wait until sometime "up to the end of the year".

In September, the same sources said 'it was a matter of weeks".

Get ready.
He ain't going anywhere.
I'm guessing we have passed the $617.5 million mark now in the Campaign For UAB if you include the $30+ million from athletics.

It's easy to make open ended predictions then act like you have inside information. My inside information said Watts will resign or be fired within the next 170 weeks and you can take that to the bank brother!

Just letting you fine folks what is being said in the Research $ part of the University. I'm not pretending anything.
The Campaign For UAB has stalled since last December and frankly it hasn't done anything in the last year.

Will they change presidents mid-stream of their campaign?
They might if they have a reason to have to meet their goal.
Those who may WANT to fire President Watts CAN'T. Those who CAN fire President Watts don't want to since he has been such a good soldier for them. He can resign / retire at any time of his choosing. Those same persons who could fire him will also name his replacement whenever that action is needed.

Why do you think he has been a good soldier? If he was tasked with getting rid of football by the BOT like many believe, he totally f***ed up his mission.
True. He screwed both sides.

The research side of the University is no different that any other side of the University when it comes to rumors and hearsay.
May be true but it is coming from other areas as well. (Outside UAB too) Look he may be here until he falls over from old age because you just never know but everything we have heard was end of the year and it is not from the research side.
Is it bad that I fear his replacement?
Well if they decide to replace him with another yes man people will be able to see through it & continue to withhold from donating to the campaign for UAB.

That is an illustration of UAB fan's frustrations. The only way open to make demonstrations against BOT actions are to do violence to fund raising for UAB. We have no effective way to affect THEIR favorite school in Tuscaloosa.
Well I have questions about what the Campaign For UAB funds are being used for at UAB as well.
At this point, I'm ok with Watts as president. Call me crazy, but I think he will be able to do more good for UAB now that he know he has to be ever vigilant about his words and actions.

OK, you are crazy.

Watts continues his vendettas against his perceived faculty enemies, doing his best to destroy the careers of men and women who care about our university and community, and have stood up since last December for the right thing.

He is a foul stain clinging to our beloved university. Ray Watts is just plain evil.

If there's a bright side, the new prez will know what happened to the old one.

First TheGorilla, now you. A lot of brainwashing going on around here.

I wish the same business and community leaders who stepped up and supported UAB athletics would step up and demand to be at the table in the selection of the new UAB President. They are invested ("have skin in") the future of UAB now.
