UH has been a farm system of sorts for Big 12 coaching lately, with almost half the conference having a head coach that was at least an offensive coordinator at UH very recently and not including a fifth at former member and nearby Texas A&M.

I say within the next couple years, he'll be at Texas or Kansas State if Bill Snyder retires for good.

These aren't even Herman's recruits he's winning with... You're funny man.

can you just **** offf w/ your terrible posts. Kansas State?!?! Kansas State!? You need to have your head examined if you think Tom Herman leaves us for Kansas State. And Charlie Strong isn't getting fired.
Where is Herman from? Is he local to B-12 country, or elsewhere?

Born in Cincinnati but raised in California. Most of his coaching career has been in the state of Texas save for his time as OC at Iowa State and Ohio State.

Apparently, Ohio and California but his coaching career, minus Ohio State, is exclusively in Texas.
He will stay at Houston as they will be in the Big 12 or BIG soon.
Houston's going to either be B1G, BigXII, or possibly even ACC soon anyhow. Why leave?
South Carolina is very interested...

He's not old enough nor has he won big elsewhere enough for South Carolina to try and leech off his reputation.
Ferttita is not letting Herman go anywhere, like he said, "everything can be solved by money" with a wink, at a private party, with the concern from some in the fan base about him leaving. Herman is actually Ferttitta hire.
Since the Big 12 will probably be around until the GOR ends, and ND still has access to the Championship as an Independent. I can see in the ACC future with the ACC network, them grabbing both Cincinnati and Houston to expand the Viewership numbers into those Huge TV markets. Both schools have recently put a lot of money in improvements in facilities and improved in the academic side as well. Both would be great adds. Herman would be an outstanding coach to lead Houston into the league.

Hahaha

On a serious note though, supposedly Ray Tanner has been a fan of his since last season and has been following him for a long time

Dan Mullen and Kirby smart are the two names I consistently hear, with Mullen probably the number one target.

South Carolina's AD dept has been well managed for some time, in fact I believe we've only fired one coach this century in any major sport (Darrin Horn in 2012). There is a lot of money to spend, we are willing to go up to 5-6 million for the right guy. Now we wouldn't do that for Herman but that gives you an idea
Who would want to leave UH when they have standing invites to every major P5 conference and are just trying to figure out which one is the best choice!

04-cheers

Maybe so, I'm quoting, what the man said, take it up with him. Man's estimated worth is 2.4 billion. Herman was brought in by him for certain mission (1) to change the FB culture at the University and team, (2) to have a coach once Houston in a P5 conference ( from all the sounds of it B12, but other P5 conferences have been on campus vetting us ) who can win immediately.

You right CardFan1, Houston and Cincinnati are ones who have strongly invested in their facilities, for Houston, the new football stadium has been a tremendous boost in terms of eye ball and attendance interest.

Not only are fans excited about the new football stadium but top notch recruits who never once thought about visiting Houston are now showing up unexpected.

I think matter time before Houston joins one of the five high payout revenue conferences.
as somebody mentioned, he was the OC at Iowa St. I think he would be an ideal replacement for Paul Rhoades when gets fired.

Shhhh. That information is embargoed. Only the shadiest of shady twitter accounts have it yet.

A promising young football coach isn't going to destory his career at that wasteland of program called South Carolina.

Tom Herman will get a big job at places like Texas, Nebraska, Ohio State in a few years and the like.
