It's Fumbles. It was always Fumbles.

Does anyone know what channel this would be since i have Dish Network. I really want to watch all these games since I am from Illinois and I am a big Blazer fan.

ASN is not a single cable channel, it's a package of games carried by local broadcast stations, usually ones owned by Sinclair. You'll have to dig out which station in your particular TV market is the ASN affiliate.

EDIT: You can go to this page and put in your zip code and then click a game to see what channel it's on in your area, but it doesn't look like all the data for basketball season is loaded. For example it says the CUSA tournament won't be on TV in Birmingham, but obviously it will. http://americansportsnet.com/schedule/

And only a few TV markets carry it.

During the holiday season. School will be out and probably few people will be at work and out doing last minute Xmas shopping. Don't think it really matters what time they played this game.

Holiday shopping on December 29tb? Interesting. Also, I know a lot of people who do work during this week, but maybe that's just me. A 230 Tuesday game makes zero sense.
Especially against a quality opponent.
Yep. That's our marquee home ooc game, and we put it at the weirdest time possible.

I can't recall the last time we had a weekday game before 6:00pm.

Yeah that is interesting....lol. How about busy returning Xmas gifts. Point is it's the holidays and a lot of people will be off work anyway and school will be out. I don't see the big deal with the start time.
I'll be there. If UAB had a marketing department they could make sure plenty of other people would be there, too.
School will be out and *some* people will be off. Most people get off New Year's Day, and maybe New Year's Eve, or they get a half day on NYE.

2:30 on the 29th for what is probably our best home game is idiotic. I guess it is television driven, but that makes no sense either.

Dumb.

I can personally confirm that UAB Basketball games on TV are important for recruiting... not just basketball players, but also students. The reason I am here right now is because I watched UAB Basketball games on Channel 42 in the 80's at my grandmother's house. I couldn't get channel 42 in Hartselle, but there was a strong signal at my grandmother's house in Baileyton (Northeast Cullman County).

After several years of watching UAB basketball games on TV, I was completely blown away when I heard that UAB would be adding an NCAA-sanctioned football program in 1991 and I anticipated it almost as much as I now anticipate UAB football in 2017. I tuned in 107.7 FM for the start of the pre-game broadcast of that first UAB football game and continued to tune in to 107.7 FM for every UAB football game until I was finally able to attend a game in person (1996 @ Auburn). In 1997, I became a Marching Blazer.

I can't imagine how different my life might have been if I had not fallen in love with UAB basketball in the 80's... and that might not have happened if the games had not been on TV.
Other schools have done this. Memphis did last year I think. If it is marketed well, it will do alright. You are not going to have a huge crowd anyway, even at night, the week after Christmas.

And the average person is not going to recognize Stephen F Austin as a quality game.

Christmas lasts 12 days. Santa brings presents every day until the Feast of Three Kings.

But he'll always be Fumbles.
The Birmingham Bowl is the next day, 12/30 at noon. I guess the bowl officials don't realize some people have work and exchange Christmas gifts.
