Panama you're smarter than that. The president's salary isn't completely based on he academic statute of the school. You have 50,000+ students paying tuition in one form or another. Of course you'll pay more than Georgia Southern.

Ask for president keel leaving, let's not kid ourselves. He's an Augusta native and GRU alum. Not to mention, an MD that attended medical school there. Of course he would accept a job there over Georgia Southern.

Yes we keep forgetting you are the Harvard of the South....yet RNP.....07-coffee3

So one school had its President given a raise to over $1M/year to keep him along UGA and GT's Presidents in place until they retire.

The other school had its President leave for another school in the university system that doesnt even play football.

So please do tell me more about academics.... 07-coffee3

Your comparison is, well, stupid...

Its not stupid just because you dont like it. There are 4 Tier 1 research universities in this state and youre not one of them. BOR considers you second tier. Both of the actions I describe REINFORCE that fact. So call us Perimeter all you like...LOL.

And that has what to do with trying to create a stupid all sports rivalry trophy created by two ADs, a few bloggers, and a bunch of knuckle heads on a message board?

Wow...um no. That's not how things work. As I said THREE Presidents got raises to over $1M per year. GSU, UGA and GT. Commonality? USG research universities. These are 3 of the 4 most important universities in the University System of Georgia (the other being Augusta University). The BOR is locking up their CEOs long term. As for your former president, It's a promotion. Expect him to eventually get a $1M/year salary along with the other 3.

State has never been our rival in anything...except maybe back in the TAAC days. App is really only a rival in football. We had rivalries with Citadel and CofC in baseball, CofC and Davidson in basketball, etc... We do need to make new rivals in our new conference, but those things develop naturally over time.

Please don't try to make something that isn't there. 03-banghead

Agreed. I hate this trophy. Why give relevance to an irrelevant football program. GSU should stick to basketball and throw in the towel on this football experiment.

I hope GaSt fans lit up their AD like GS fan did on twitter....

What fans?

The obsession with which your fan base watches everything we do is worthy of a doctoral thesis. But it also means that your 2016 and 2017 are really going to suck.

04-cheers
Maybe it's just me, but I don't think a forced rivalry is healthy for either school or the conference.

Really Panama, the fact that G State/Perimeter has more students than almost any two campuses in the state has nothing to do with it?
