Message board talk is fun. The ESPN Game Day talk is also silly, but will be less silly if the Tigers and ole miss both win this week.
If crazy stuff happened, we beat ole miss, and then both teams win out....we would be guaranteed a playoff spot.
Full disclosure....I expect us to lose a few games. However, that doesn't mean I can't dream.
The only way it wouldn't happen would be if the other four P5 champs were all undefeated. Very unlikely.
A non power 5 school will never get in the playoff. Never.

Is that a prediction, or a statement of fact? Are you saying it is mathematically impossible, impossible by rule (I don't think this would be the case), or that the odds are "agin' us".
Do you think Boise could schedule 4 P5s (good ones) and get in by going 13-0, but not us?
A 12-1 Sec champ has about a 95%,chance to make the playoff. A 13-0 AAC champ with a win over that same team has a better chance.

Houston could only lose to us.
Temple would have to beat ND, which could only have 2 losses at most.
We would have to have at least one other AAC ranked team.

EVERY other P5 champion must have two losses.
If ALL that happens, our chances would be 50/50 at best!!!!

Wrong. We don't have to beat out every p5 champion, just 2. Ohio state romps through the big 10 undefeated, they get a spot and take out the whole big 10
Pac 10 doesn't have a dominant team and their champion has 2 losses
Acc isn't very deep. Their champ has 2 losses
Big 12 gets one team in
Sec gets one team in.
Unless noted dame has 1 loss in this scenario, assuming ole miss finishes with 1-2 losses and/or wins sec, I think we're probably in.
A lot of football between now and then though. It's not likely but it's not an impossible scenario.

A 1 point win over ole miss would be significant enough provided they don't tank the rest of the season. 13-0 enough for a playoff spot? Not if there four P5 undefeated teams.

Oh, I dream like you! Yep, sign me up for this...and then, I'd freakin rub it in all the miserables faces on this board. Just say'in.
I would laugh hysterically if the acc failed to get into the playoffs, and the AAC slid into the 4th playoff spot over the b12 because they didn't have a ccg.
If there was ever a year we could do it, it appears to be this year. We don't have to kill the remaining teams on the schedule, just beat them. The two teams we needed to kill were killed.
