Secondary = A-, yes they give up yards, but that's by design. The difference this year is that they have a depth and are under the 2nd year of a defensive coordinator who can run it.
Linebackers= B+ They've been rock steady.
D-Line= A++++, especially in the middle. Great depth and run stoppers
Kicker= B+, A freshman making clutch kicks!
O-Line= B-, Working on a learning curve as expected. They've give up 0 sacks! They are still working on opening up running lanes on a consistent basis. The center was snapping the ball low, high, and everywhere in between at times.
WRs, also known as the Pass Intended For group= C-, Russell may never fully develop into a big time wideout, but Thompson is on the rise, and the tight ends are starting to get a little love. On the plus side, they can only improve. I can't imagine them getting worse.
QB=A++++, If They could catch, Ely would have monster numbers. I'm suprised he didn't just walk off the field, after some of those drops. His passes are almost always spot on.
Coaching= B, There still is that one or two times per game, when I have no idea why they call what they call. Can we come out of time-out without having to call another time-out or take a delay of game, just once? Overall it has improved.
Bottom Line= 3-0 is a great place to be!!! They will have to clean things up to beat NIU or BG. The last 4 games of the season will be a true gauntlet. Kent St is playing well, and let's not forget Ball St. Very Exciting So Far!
