Coaches do have down seasons, but that does not mean people will be clamoring for him to be fired...Especially coaching Memphis Football, no one is expecting him to win a national championship. I would bet consistently making a bowl would be OK...That is the equivalent to making the CBI\NIT in basketball.

More equivalent to S16 occasional E8 if it's Top G5 bowl that's what New Years 6 should be equal too

Coach Fuente didn't have 2 top 3 recruiting classes and a few HS All-Americans recruited years in between . The players on the football field actually look like they know what they are doing in their respective sport. The coach doesn't insult fans knowledge when he does interviews/press conferences.

All of our players seem to be getting better. Coach Fuente actually runs a solid system. Recruiting as improved since he's been here not declined. The program has improved since he's gotten here.

He has actually won the AAC.

I can keep going, but why?

You just stated the reason why the Pastner and Fuente situations aren't the same. Pastner has never done this. Fuente's 3 and 4 win teams were way more fun to watch than that crap Pastner has been making us endure.

Leaked: Virginia interested in putting out feelers for Matt Campbell of Toledo and Justin Fuentes of Memphis. Mike London on the Hot Seat.

They can have Justin Fuentes.

I've always had an affinity for Arturo Fuente .................

I'm willing to bet that if we get in the big 12 while he is still coaching here, there is a good chance he would take the Gary Patterson approach and stay for a long time

I think I am more partial to ACC now! BIGXII is kinda a "laughing stock" with the leader they have...Or creating a "Superleague" with the AMERICAN! As long as Texas is in the cellar BIGXII is [THUMBS DOWN SIGN]

Tom Bowen told USA TODAY Sports. "We've had to build it one game at a time, and finally after three years of pushing the envelope we're in the perfect position. Thursday night is a defining moment for the University of Memphis. It's a celebration for the city, the university and all of us and it's the work of Coach Fuente. It's amazing what he's done. From my standpoint we will benefit immensely because we're going to be everywhere Thursday night."

Hold on because, he will start bringing in 4 star recruits and we will have a great program. Right now he's winning with average players. Virginia is a coaches grave yard he can do way better than uva. Hopefully we pay him big bucks and he's a lifer. Let's put big crowds in the L.B. and show this team some luv!

But he turned down "A LOT" more money for his little buyout! 01-wingedeagle

Didn't he also take less salary in exchange for a lower buyout?
