Let's hope everything goes well with the Pope. He seems like a nice guy - definitely my favorite Pope since John Paul II (or was it I - the one from Poland who was Pope for a long time in the 80's and 90's).

There has been some controversy attached to the visit which has been discussed already (like some of the people being invited to some of his talks/visits). But here's another one I don't understand. Why are the Philadelphia schools being closed for four days in conjunction with his visit? And he's not even going to be in Philly until the weekend? It just seems odd but maybe this is a normal shutdown period for that district - although you'd think they'll probably miss more time in the winter with regular snow days.
I wonder if the Catholic Church is paying any the bill for the security surrounding this visit? The bill must be staggering.

Probably not. It is in the city's best interest to provide support for something like this.
Open up the Vatican bank and lets see what you got in there. His Marxist ways might one day get alot
of priests killed somewhere.

I oppose tax dollars being used for this purpose simply on principle of separation of Church and State. Damn...The Church pays no taxes and now the citizens(many of which really could care less about the Pope) are pretty much being robbed to pay for his visit. The Vatican has plenty of cash. They should foot the bill.

Probably comparable to the salaries of many Protestant ministers and/or Joel Osteen's mansion.

Just FYI, the Vatican's annual budget is less than that of the city of Birmingham, Alabama.

If you're going to complain about this, then complain about how tax money is frequently used to protect non-governmental personnel. Like ALL THE TIME.
Yet the Vatican has guards and a Wall of things keeping people out. Interesting....

No really ,....I've been there and seen them. I thought perhaps they were present only because they could sense that I was a Southern Baptist! Pretty gay looking costumes those boys wear.

I know it's a tradition but isn't it time that the tradition is changed a little. They look like ballerinas with tutus. And those stupid bedroom slippers. Wow.

Hey, wait a minute maybe that's the new uniforms for our new transgender fighting force. LOL

Is he going to bless the New Orleans Saints? They're doing pretty lousy. Necessitan una buena limpiada. (They need a good cleansing).

Yep, it's called Sola Scriptura. No mumbo-jumbo man-made beliefs here. Sola Scriptura, latin for the Scriptures Only.
