With Kiel they're dangerous, without they are probably less so. Bummer.
I seem to remember the Cincy backup is pretty mobile - mobile QBs seem to give us trouble. Can't take anything for granted. At this point no one will take us for granted.
Lower than I thought. I'll prob get in on that
that seems a little low to me as well.
up to -7 on some now better get in quick

He's a red-shirt freshman. He had 2 fumbles and 2 interceptions in their last game.
Even though our defense is u know what I think cincy is in big trouble in this one...I'd say we win by 2 td's at least but then again we could coug it.
now up to -7 across the board in Vegas
Memphis goes 4-0

42-27
69-7

Houston's backup QB Ward who is a starter now but had his 1st start against Memphis beat us last year.

Yep. And just in the 4th quarter, if the ESPN story was accurate.

Did you see Hayden Moore's stats in the Miami OH game? He's no Greg Ward.

11 rushes for 29 yards. Last week Miami OH had 157 total yards and -3 rushing yards and scored 0 points against Wisconsin. They had 450 and around 250 yards rushing against Cincinnati. So even with Kiel we would win.
^YUP

our defense blows chunks...AGAIN. I think we have had four defensive coordinators in four years. And it looks like it will be five in five years after this one.

Agree. Our D is below average to average. UC's is still bad. And our O is better than UC's, even with Kiel in.

Doesn't guarantee a win, but we should win, Kiel or no Kiel.

Do we know this? Because BG has done what they did to us to every one this year. And Tennessee's defense didn't really look bad against Oklahoma.

I just think the combination of pace, and the conditioning that allows them to play at that pace, and their QBs ability to be pretty accurate on those go/streak routes just puts a lot of pressure on the secondary and puts the defense in a reactionary mode. Blitz, and your CB (who's sucking wind because this is his third play in a minute) gets beat downfield. Have your CB cheat on the go and they start throwing hitches. Move your safeties over to help on the wideouts, and you're getting gashed up the middle on QB draws.

Watching the game again, the defense didn't really play that bad except for the two drives to end the first half, which I put sqaurely down to fatigue (and if I have anything to criticize the staff for in this game, it was their too conservative play calling on the two stalled drives to end the second half. Take the ball down for a score on that first possession especially and the entire complexion of the ballgame would have been different), and then getting beat for long touchdowns on that go route to start the game and then twice in the second half (which was bad, but again they did the same exact thing to Tennessee).

I don't think there are going to be too many teams on our schedule that will be able to replicate that (Navy will give us a completely different challenge, though and Ole Miss will have better or talent at almost every position on the field and have an equal almost anywhere else). So, maybe our defense is average. But I don't really think it's fair to make that judgment based off the Bowling Green game.
