Yes. Last year Boise impressed with only a 7 point loss to Mississippi State. If NIU goes 12-1, with our only loss being a 7 point one to Ohio State, we'd get the nod, especially now that Boise lost.

MAC has been unbelievable this year. NIU's defense is impressive and far better than I gave them credit for. However Toledo, the Boat Rowers and BGSU will be tough and CMU looked good yesterday as well. Anything can happen this season. If somehow we run this gauntlet the rest of the season we would deserve to play in a top bowl game.

Yes 12-1 would get the Access Bowl spot which would probably be peach bowl. That Nov3 maction showdown at the Glass Bowl could be a lot bigger than people ever imagined

Worry about BC (which I think we will win). We still have two more road games in a row which is never easy

The title is 'assuming' we can win. And, my opinion is yes, we have. This is exactly what we needed to happen. Let's hope we garner respect from the committee as the weeks pass.

No. My mental state and preparation must be on point for NIU to win. I'm sorry I let everybody down yesterday. I forgot to put on my NIU hat until the second half...and that shows a lack of discipline and preparation.

I will just be happy if NIU can go 1-1 in their next 2. Points are going to be mighty tough to come by again next week and the defense is going to have to have an inspired effort again to have a chance to win. If you had to pick only one game of the next 2 to win, what it be @ BC or @ CMU.

+1000. Our speculations on the board don't effect the outcome(s) of NIU's upcoming games in any way. It bothers me when people say "let's take it one game at a time". Hell, we're not playing the games so why can't we speculate?

We have to win the MAC West before we goto Detroit. CMU has beaten NIU recently.
If we are not MAC Champions we get a low paying bowl (assuming we have another great season). BC is a great team. They regularly play Florida State tough. This year they were down 7-0 going into the 4th quarter. Lost 14-0. Year before by lost by 3 points. A win over BC will look great on a resume, and with a MAC Championship will put NIU in a frontrunner position for a major Bowl.
Too much pressure so early on.
NIU needs to avoid major injuries.
We need one win at a time while minimizing injuries.

Agree. All it does it get NIU fans riled up with unrealistic expectations.
NIU has had 5 incredible years.
Our only goal should be a win at BC next week.

i speculate that we run the table...get a top 4 vote. Forget the 'access' bowl, we are going to the playoff. then that NFL invite will finally arrive and we will be promoted to the NFC north.
