The state of Illinois on the football field is now as wide as it is long.
Someone should have looked at a map before it was put on the field. And the bottom of the state looks like a wet spot on the field.
The whole thing looks like a giant wet spot on TV. Maybe it's a social commentary on the state of the state.
From 100 ft directly above the state it looks fine but from the TV view or West side yes its not proportioned properly.
However I barely noticed the actual outline of the state from the stands as there was action on the field. The NIU definitely did stand out though.
The NIU sticks out and I actually had people asking me if the outline was on the field or if they "mowed it" that way.
...freshmen...but still.
i think it may have to do with the IHSA. Since UofI has the state on their field, i think its a thumb to them since we host as well.
Not a fan of the outline, nor the star signifying DeKalb on the map. The NIU is fine and looks good. Not complaining, but I prefer the old huskie emblem @ midfield.
I thought it looked nice, but honestly its not a big deal. Its all about branding identity

Hey! Some of us saw the field for the first time since the new turf. So that gives us the right to say what we think.
I personally am relieved it does only look like a wet spot or stain! Ha ha ha!

Wow. Didn't think I was going to get yelled at. Don't be so sensitive, guys. I forgot that sarcasm is not a language that is fluently spoken on this board. If you've read previous posts about the field, you would know why I said that. I encourage your involvement on the board!
Overall, I thought the field looked amazing on TV. I thought this multiple times.
There should be a picture of a cannon hidden in the state outline.

On TV it looks like the state of Illinois. I have no idea what people are complaining about. I thought it looked real sharp.
