Guys last night while I was on the field for pregame of The John Merritt Classic, I noticed that several of our players were wearing Forrest green wristbands. I went over and asked one of the equipment guys what was this all about and they told me that the guys from the Birmingham wanted to pay tribute to UAB. Originally they wanted to wear #FreeUAB on their towels but that is against NCAA rules so they went went the dark green wrist bands which looked black from the stands. ASU has 17 players that are from the Birmingham metro area.

Not sure if anyone reported it. A few people asked about the green last night in the stands once I left off of the field. If you weren't sitting close you wouldn't notice it because that dark green looks black from a distance and there were only a few guys rocking the green. A few people posted a few pics Facebook last night.

I could get behind that as the opening game for the 2017 season. ASU should come out to a round of applause.
