My guess after many years at the GB - 14,000
Attendance after delay: 14

The "real" season tickets area was the worst showing. Students were there and "Fan Plan" had decent turnout.
I'm still here
The mid-week gain reasoning does take another hit here. A weekend game, maybe you can wait out. This was an expensive thunderstorm added to one last year as I recall. Perhaps many of those no-shows think like me, that the season ticket is really a donation to the program. I however, would like to actually see a little of the football team. When students get themselves suspended or there are these mid-week games lost because of weather or time, it's a bit harder to support the reasoning behind that donation.

Student turnout was good and upper east side (Fan Plan) looked OK. The lower bowls looked pretty pathetic at kick off time; however, fans kept drifting in throughout much of the first quarter, so while I would agree with the 14,000 at kick off, I suspect by end of the first quarter it was closer to 16,000 or 17,000. I will be shocked if the attendance is announced as 20,000 or greater.
A Thursday night game, against a program like Stony Brook, does not generate much excitement.

Just ask our defense.
What's the latest, are they still in the locker room?
Official attendance: 18,463
Sounds like it so far.

Oops, news flash. Looks like they are now out on the field, but play has not resumed yet.
Correction--not so much "on the field" as kind of meandering in the end zone.

As slow as this system is they could probably finish the half before the last cell gets here.

That's what I was hoping by looking at the radar, but they are waiting so long the cell is near Sylvania now.
Thank goodness we have seven home games this year.

Yes, but you have to admit that here was lots of electricity in the air all night. 03-wink
I paused after a quick look at the sky and never made it to my seats.

Grrrroooooaaaaaaan!
The press boxes stayed packed through many delays. Regular fan crowd wasnt that good compared to saturday FCS openers but the student section wasn't bad.
Yeah I think the percentage of the student section who stayed for the second half (or was going to stay for the second half) was above average for Glass Bowl home games.
MOB has done a lot of great things in his tenure as UT AD. IMHO, deciding to play this game on a Thursday Night was not one of them. I understand the argument, having the game before students leave for Labor Day weekend, or maybe to provide more time to prepare for Arkansas. That would be fine if UT's schedule wasn't littered with November weekday night games due to MAC scheduling. MOB decided to add a 3rd out of 7, non-saturday home game and 5th out of 12 non-saturday game for the 2015 football season. There is a lot of disrespect to regular Rocket fans, especially those that travel for home games. Fans that have kids, or that have to work the next morning as well, are forced to leave the game early. With the team from c-bus playing on Monday and the team from AA playing on Thursday night, UT would have avoided 2 of their largest detriments to attendance. PLEASE MOB, NO MORE WEEKDAY NIGHT GAMES, that are not forced by conference scheduling.
