No longer an ESPN3 Game:

Will now be carried by ASN the regional carrier for most of ODU's games...

Well that sucks. I can access ESPN3...don't think I can get the other service.
I just spoke with Directv and they said if I get the "Sports Pack" I would get it... $13.99

For me that means going from the Internet to the main television set.

Good for me, but I do wonder about a lot of EMU fans.
Still listed on ESPN3's website and on the press release from EMU, but I'm sure that's not proof-positive it will still air on ESPN airwaves.

As far as syndication from ASN, looks like the game will be broadcast on CSN Chicago.

I checked my area, mid-Atlantic, and it will be on the local regional sports channel. I'm sure ODU is happy with it as it gets the game on television in Va, N.C., Md, Delaware, etc.

This move does get the game onto television in some areas with large viewership as well as on DirecTV's Sports Pack.

As discussed in a thread on the main MAC board, Sports Pack is a college football, college basketball, etc. channel which will be on DirecTV's menu.
It looks like you need one of these Regional networks in (or added) to your cable/satellite packages to get it:

Altitude Sports and Entertainment:

Comcast SportsNet Bay Area:

Comcast SportsNet Chicago:

Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic:

Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia:

Cox Sports Television:

New England Sports Network:

Root Sports Southwest:

Time Warner Cable Sports Channel:
Hmmm. According to Andrew Mascharka of the Echo (their best sports writer), no deal has actually been struck between ASN and ESPN.

This sentence makes it sound like it isn't a done deal..

"Old Dominion's football opener at Eastern Michigan on Sept. 5 may be televised by the American Sports Network, instead of ESPN3, although school officials don't expect final determination of that until Monday"
I did notice they changed it here too...

who knows at this point... guess I'll sit tight.

It is still a 3:00 game per Greg Steiner (as of a few minutes ago). Subject to change, as always.
I read that deal was agreed last week and they are only awaiting station clearances to revise the game time.

Funny how the visiting team is way out in front of the host team...

Local news, updated game schedule info on website...

etc.
Don3have worry about it if you're at the game!

I wonder how accurate the two-deeps are, this article came out today and yet Ikie Calderon isn't listed anywhere on the depth chart. Either he was injured after the article was written, the author is not very informed, or the two-deeps are just for show?

The article is not very current, the author has since started a new job with Auburn and said he had a few articles that would still come out before the first game that were already written.
That said, the two-deeps aren't exactly the end-all-be-all. Sometimes the 'starter' doesn't take a snap.

Could be that Spearman and Calderon were injured after Niziolek's article, or it could be that Creighton and company put down a best guess at the depth chart. I guess we'll find out on Saturday.

You guys should also be able to get this game from ASN as long as you have a TV antenna. ASN goes through Sinclair networks, which are broadcast across the country. Inputting your ZIP code at this website (http://americansportsnet.com/schedule/) should let you know what local network it'll be on.

Can't wait for Saturday! Good luck, hope it's a good game, but of course I want my monarchs to win!
