CBS discussed Several teams in CUSA - here is our turn.

" The door is open for a new program to emerge. UAB advanced to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament last March, but the Blazers were also 16-15 prior to playing the Conference-USA Tournament on their home floor and earning an automatic bid. "

Since CBS didn't realize our youth I am guessing the article is a waste of space.

Youth is not recognized as an excuse any more in today's game of one and dones.

They said nothing that was inappropriate. We weren't on our home floor, but other than that it was factual. We easily could have lost either of our first two tournament games and had 75% of this board calling for Haase to be fired all offseason. We didn't. Hopefully we grew up, but until we can consistently win on the road, the jury should be out on us.
So true. That final shot by Brown against WKU bounced around the rim forever. If it rolls off, our season is over at 16-16, someone else wins the tourney in Bham, and Haase has a warm seat instead of a new contract. It's pretty amazing how things came together over the next couple of weeks.

What's truly amazing is how this very young, inexperienced team grew up at the end of the season. Whether Brown's shot went in or not, the team's progress and what it means for next year is undeniable. Had Brown's shot not gone in the only difference would have been that we might not have appreciated the progress they made.

And that's how the cookie crumbles in the world of sports... But, at the end of the day, the good coaches are the ones that consistently put their teams into position for those opportunities to happen. The consistency is what we are all awaiting with bated breath.
Yeah. But this message board was about to have a meltdown over a coach with his players for one year. Everybody expects things instantly and refused to look at the facts surrounding his first two years. I seriously can't imagine what the mood around here would have been like if Haase had lost to wku.
Coaches know that the difference between a "budding genius" and a "blooming idiot" can be the result of a single play - like that game ending pass interception in the last Super Bowl. If one stays in the game for very long, a coach gets the chance to be both at different times.
