Mac Gee
Mc = Irish = Mick
Mac = Scottish = Mac
I guess I'll allow for the area's incorrect interpretation

I am right there with you. . . . . . I cringe every time I see these pictures with collars and ties looking like a kindergarten kid prepared them for their pictures. I am a 60 year old woman and even I can tie a tie due to concert band uniforms back in high school. My father taught me how to tie them. I think when I retire in a couple of years, I will apply for the job of preparing our APP State athletes for pictures. Lol!!!

Seriously, how hard is it to tie a Double Windsor. Search youtube video's for how ol Merril Hoge gets that fat knot!
A Half Windsor is fine for pictures...it gives your tie length to reach your belt and you don't need a jacket.

Right there with you except that both of my kids were in Jr ROTC and I didn't just teach mine, others came to me for instruction. When it was inspection day a line formed to get it right. (yeah I helped). Their HS band didn't have ties; even for concert band.
