1:Without a doubt, the "Sunbelt Game of the Week" for week 1 will be____.

(Georgia Southern @ West Virginia. I know all the Eagles fans will agree and everyone else will berate me, but the Eagles have shown a penchant for pulling off the big road upsets (Florida) and coming darn close twice last year. If you're a knowledgeable Mountaineer fan, you know WVU can't take this game lightly.)

2:My hopes/thoughts/expectations for my team going into their first game is_____.

(Keeping it competitive and no serious injuries. Obviously I want the Red Wolves to win every game they play, but keeping things in perspective if they can give the Trojans of Southern Cal a good game and we don't lose key players, I'll be satisfied).

3: Georgia State or Idaho...who needs to win their first game more so than the other?

(For the sake of conference perception both need to win, however I think the Panthers need the win for the sake of their programs self esteem. Ohio is a solid, hard nosed football team and I think it's excusable if a lacking Vandals lose despite being in the confines of the Kibbie Dome; by all accounts, the 49ers will be one of the worst FBS start up programs in the history of NCAA football. Georgia State hasn't had a whole lot of shining moments in their brief time at the FBS level so far and if they were to drop this it could be the first of many further downer moments of the season

4: Which SBC team will score the most points?

(Easily App State against Howard. I would be surprised if it's less than 38)

5: At the conclusion of week one, What will we take away from the results?

(Not a whole lot I imagine; barring an upset or two ((in either direction)) I think it'll take until at least week 3 before we start even getting a remote idea of the teams and how the conference race could shake up.)
1. Thanks for the love; however, I'll return the favor and say stAte vs. USC. With the Sark's demeaning comments to Dan Patrick a couple of weeks ago, and his recent erratic behavior, maybe the team is distracted enough to overlook Knighten and Co. and you guys shock the world. Go do it!

2. Just win baby. A lot of negativity surrounding the suspension of our #1 QB, well #1a is pretty good too and we have plenty of other guys who can tote, catch, and tackle the rock, GATA Eagles!

3. I say my Peach State brethren need the win more. Go get it Panthers!

4. I'll go Georgia St. again here because I think Satterfield calls of the dogs early and the Panthers 49ers game won't feature much defense

5. I agree not much, but it would sure be nice to bag some P-5 and other G-5 pelts good and early this year
1. Georgia St./Charlotte, crazy as it sounds its really important we win the majority of our games against other mid majors, and especially CUSA. Also, being the first game, they can set the tone for the conference for the rest of the year.

2. easy win, no major injuries, and out 2nd and 3rd teams get plenty of reps, got a feeling we will need them as the season progresses.

3. Georgia State

4. should be App, but SS does not like to run up scores, if he can help it. I could see up getting up quickly by 3 or 4 tds, SS pulls the starters and we run dive plays for most of the third and all of the forth quarter, and we end up only scoring maybe a lone td in the forth, making the score seem closer than it really was, so I will go with GS, UNCC defense was one of the worst in all of collage football last year, and that was against low FCS and division 2 teams, Georgia States qb should have a field day.

5. agree not much, App gong to play alot of subs, if everything goes to plan, more than the starters. Georgia Southern doesn't have Ellis, and breaking in 4 new offensive lineman, they will get better as the year progresses, and Ark St is going to be a better team than the one that shows up against the Trojans.

1. Cajuns and Kentucky…most winnable P5 game IMO
2. Hope we keep it close and the game has us ready for Western Michigan, which is still winnable even without Ellison
3. Georgia State, because they have the losing streak and are playing a CUSA opponent
4. App State.
5. Agree
1:Without a doubt, the "Sunbelt Game of the Week" for week 1 will be ULL at Kentucky

2:My hopes/thoughts/expectations for my team going into their first game is an injury free four touchdown victory

3: Georgia State or Idaho...who needs to win their first game more so than the other? Georgia State

4: Which SBC team will score the most points? App State

5: At the conclusion of week one, What will we take away from the results? Troy is better than we thought?
1-Gotta go with GaSo at WVU. Just wish Ellis was at QB. WVU hasn't been quite as good the last couple of years and GaSo can score and move the ball and eat clock against almost anyone. WVU has had time to prepare for the option but I still think GaSo has a chance to pull the upset and that would be a big plus for the Belt considering the Belt's lousy OOC performance last year. ULL over UK is my second choice pick.

2-My hope for App in week one is to win decisively against an FCS opponent, get lots of reps to the subs and be healthy for the Clemson game the next week. App can't lay an egg 2 years in a row at home against an FCS team.

3-GaSt need to win against UNCC as they are in the Belt footprint and the more success the Belt teams have against CUSA the better. This is likely the most winnable game on their schedule and at home. Arbuckle should have a field day against that defense and I will be there with a couple of other ATL Apps cheering them on.

4-App or GaSt should ring up some BIG numbers against those defenses. Toss up.

5-The first week won't tell a lot but if a couple of Belt teams can really step up against OOC FBS it would get the season off to a great start. Idaho and GaSt could do that, GaSo has a chance and who knows, maybe we send a case of whiskey to USC's coach and give stAte a boost at USC. ULL could pull a Power 5 upset at Kentucky too. No FCS loss please!

Maybe, but probably won't see that in week one. Troy will need some time to shake of the funk from last season. Honestly, no one knows if we're going to be better or worse.

I seriously doubt that you'll be worse . . . I fully expect Troy to be improved over last year . .. . How much is the question.. .

BTW, it is Ellison.
1:Without a doubt, the "Sunbelt Game of the Week" for week 1 will be____.

Arky at SoCal. This could be the Sunbelt's shot across the bow heard round the world -- a win against a historic powerhouse.

2:My hopes/thoughts/expectations for my team going into their first game is_____.

Win. That's what we do at Southern. If that doesn't happen, I expect the team to represent Southern well.

3: Georgia State or Idaho...who needs to win their first game more so than the other?

Agree, both need to win but if you had to pick one, I'd go with Ga. State. I do hope both win though. Can't be fun losing all the damn time.

4: Which SBC team will score the most points?

Appy.

5: At the conclusion of week one, What will we take away from the results?

That football is here baby. And that's never a bad thing.
I really don't care, all I know is he isn't playing against WVU
