LITTLE ROCK – The Little Rock Department of Athletics will take over KATV on Tuesday, Aug. 25 for Little Rock Trojans Day. Little Rock coaches, student-athletes and fans will serve as guests on Daybreak, Good Morning Arkansas and Midday Arkansas before a 30-minute special airs from 6:30-7 p.m.

"Our season ticket campaign is off to a great start thanks in part to our partnership with KATV," Director of Athletics Chasse Conque said. "We are hopeful Little Rock Trojans Day combined with Tuesday evening's special promoting the new era of Little Rock basketball will encourage our community to get in on the ground floor and help us build something special. These are exciting times for Trojan Athletics and I am confident Tuesday will reflect just that."

In addition to Little Rock's 30-minute special and numerous appearances on KATV shows, the KATV.com homepage will include ads for the Trojans' "I've Got Mine" campaign throughout the day.

That evening, the bridges connecting Little Rock and North Little Rock will be lit in maroon and white by the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The day starts with head men's basketball coach Chris Beard and head women's basketball coach Joe Foley will provide fans with an update on their teams on Daybreak (6-7 a.m.).

Next, longtime season ticket holder Rex Nelson and associate head men's basketball coach Wes Flanigan will join Good Morning Arkansas (9-10 a.m.) to talk about the new era for #LittleRocksTeam.

Men's basketball student-athlete Josh Hagins and Student Government Association President Jacob Laan will be on Midday Arkansas to talk about their experiences at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the University's growing student engagement.

Starting at 5 p.m., a live ticket sale-a-thon will operate from the KATV news building with the Little Rock men's and women's basketball staffs manning the phones. Fans will be able to call in and purchase season tickets, and a special ticket package will be available to fans that call in the night of the event.

Live interviews with Conque and Beard from the phone bank will be featured in KATV's 5 and 6 p.m. news shows.

Finally, the 6:30-7 p.m. special, #LittleRocksTeam / #IveGotMine, will include interviews with Conque, Beard, Foley, Al and Wes Flanigan, Little Rock fans and student-athletes.

Little Rock's 2015-16 season ticket packages start at $99 and include new, affordable price points, including Upper Leather seats – previously Club Seating – for $350, and Lower Chairback seats for $250. The Lower Chairback section includes the option of purchasing any additional tickets in the section for just $50 – meaning a couple could purchase two Lower Chairback tickets for $300, or a group of four could purchase four tickets for $400.

I'll say.
That is excellent. Only advice to all involved is "expect acceptance". Talk and walk confidently, don't kow tow to hogism in any way shape or form and give acceptance to your audience. This is like stepping on the moon, tearing down the Berlin Wall and the Little Rock Nine entering Central High all rolled into one...at least in the world of sports in this weird little state. Make this count. Pass it on.
