I take Craft O'Neal's comments to mean we're pretty much good to go on the $2.5M.
Agreed.

This stuff should have been in the media the first time it was mentioned to anyone on the committee. This kind of stuff is not above board. If the BOT was going pull this crap we should be fielding a team next year in 2016 and not 2 years from now. We need a divorce from Tuscaloosa plain and simple. They are not for Birmingham at all. They want the Birmingham market and capital but the control stays 50+ miles southwest of us.

While I was wondering around shooting the Periscope feed, I heard Alan Collins from Fox 6 & Hatton Smith talking. It's amazing how running around with a camera gets you into conversations. Without a camera it would have just been creepy.
Anyway, Collins was asking if we had the $2 million & Hatton Smith replied "we're virtually there, we're just on the final push."

That's very true. Keeping their secrets for them only aids their evil.
Maybe I missed it, but Craft O'Neal's statement that Pumpkinhead had set a 30 Sept. deadline prior to this one was new to me.

So, from Jan 1, 2016 to Sept 30, 2015 to Sept 1, 2015. When you consider that they want payments by Sept 1, 2015, Jan 1, 2016, and July 1, 2016 they want 60% of the planned 5 year donation within the first year...

That's just nuts for even these clowns to conjure up!

I don't know why someone did not alert the media to this early on, but I suspect that the Committee knew that they could cover whatever monetary target and date deadline Watts wanted to impose and didn't need the media's help. I also suspect that they also already have the $2.0 or $2.5 million amount covered, but aren't saying so because Watts is famous for raising the bar every time it reached.
The purpose of these targets and deadlines may have been to demonstrate that the pledges are worthless, but i think it will have the opposite affect. When their stupid targets are met, if will illustrate just how strong the support really is.

No University with a budget like UAB has should be running around claiming funds are exhausted on athletics. UAB was paying lady what about $25K a month to do what.........mostly nothing yet claim financial strain when it comes to funding the largest marketing tool the university has and that's the athletic department.

So Mark is telling us he is proposing a building that costs $441.00 a square foot? Does it have a log ride and a waterfall?
Did a fifth grader put together Mark's presentation?

Off the top of my head without doing any research on contents with weight room maybe 300? I would jack it up with a high technology budget. Still 441 is over the top IMHO.

Isn't that the BOT's MO? We can build it now but we have to pay more for materials and construction so the brothers in law and cousins can make mint.

Let me give a further example. USA football building $260. Sf. Troys new one will be. $250 sf.
Bare bones building costs will be between 225 and 250 then you add technology and furnishings.
300 would be high end waterfall territory.

That matches up with what I was thinking yesterday as I listened to Ingram: Fumbles is totally winging this thing with no idea what he's talking about. He's pulling old drawings out of the files, flinging numbers around randomly and hoping no one will notice.
He probably should have worn a helmet in his playing days.

I think it time for us to form a delegation representing "small" boosters who would set up a meeting with Ingram to asked the questions that need to be asked and to make him aware of our concerns on how he is proceeding. He has been in athletics administration long enough to know that while big boosters who provide large amounts of money are important, a large share of contributions come from people like us so I think he will be smart enough to value our input. The delegation could then share the proceeding with everyone.
