Tulane University recently announced it will build a new TV Booth/Press Box to replace the existing structure that was put in place when the new stadium opened.

"When Yulman opened last fall with the press box on the West side, camera and announcer positions were both as low as any in college football. It not only displayed a less-than-preferable angle for the viewer, but frequently showed empty seats in the Glazer Family Club sections."

~250 seats?
Is it just me or is it stupid they're having to modify a brand new stadium? Sounds like a lack of planning and forward thinking on the Tulane end.
See FIU, canopies are easily replaceable. 05-stirthepot

Empty seats at Tulane's new, on-campus stadium?

My thoughts exactly.
I applaud Tulane for fixing the obvious problem in their new stadium, but it should have been corrected on the drawing board.
The real G5 stadium arms race is being won by ECU. I believe they are about to expand their stadium to 60,000 seats.

No we aren't, at least not for the foreseeable future. ECU is going to be building a new press box, adding suites/loge boxes, and overall capacity might increase by 2-3k.

...LOL. ECU isnt winning the G5 arms race. Have you ever actually been to that stadium? Ever been to their basketball arena?

I dont think anyone is really winning what you call an "arms race" of the G5. I've never really took time to think about who has the best facilities in the G5 but if I had to guess off the top of my head it would probably be UCF overall. UTEP would be in the mix as would North Texas and I think Marshall would be in the mix as well. Especially considering all the upgrades and additions we have done in recent years.

I can always count on you to be objective when it comes to things ECU related LOL.
Marshals stadium isnt anywhere near the top of the G5. It might be big but that is about it. I think it's an ugly eye sore in the town. (But for Huntington it might be as nice as it can get)

Im not being objective or trashing you guys Bonds. I'm simply speaking on my opinion. Do you honestly think you have better facilities than UCF, UTEP, North Texas etc? Do you?

I guess I should have read more of the article. Congratulations on your scheduled improvements.
