It could be worse actually. Better the devil we know I suppose.

Fox was atrocious last night. I'm not tuning in again.

quit being butthurt.....you knew it was going to happen....

No, I think they've actually gotten markedly WORSE, on an exponential scale, from their coverage from '08 to '12 to '16. This is truly disgraceful.

And I don't understand the motivation for MSNBC to be in on this artificial Fiorina push. MSNBC has on their homepage in huge font "A STAR IS BORN" next to Fiorina. WTF?
She is another fake conservative to split up the real conservative so empty suit Jeb! can win with 20%.

Cruz was the only one in the crowd that showed any substance. He hit the attempted gotcha question about the Iranian general out of the park. Bet no one else on the stage knew who he is. You might not like his conservative positions, but nobody is going to beat him toe to toe in a real debate.

Bad Night - Christi, Trump, Paul
Rand had a good final zinger on Christi, but then walked into an overhead punch by Trump. Other than that, he never seemed positive or upbeat, more like a grumpy young/old man. Trump was Trump, except he took a few things too far. No polished at all. I'm not sure why anyone at Fox thinks Christi had a good night.

Ok, but nothing memorable group - Kasich, Walker
Kasich needs more material than "I was on the committee that balanced the budget". He also needs to be more interesting. The thing I remember about Walker was that he seemed to enthusiastically agree with Carson whenever Ben was speaking.

Group that did well - Bush, Rubio, Huckabee, Carson, Cruz
Carson seemed to have issues getting enough material out with his very slow and reserved cadence, but he seemed to do well enough. I thought Bush did well, considering the questions he got were ass reamers. He seemed a bit awkward at times. Cruz and Rubio did really well. Huckabee did extremely well, likely because of his extensive experience in doing these debates.

Loser of the night - Debbie Wasserman Shultz
It was painful listening to her trying to form a sentence. It was almost like she was on something.
Huck is good. His debate performances got him in the mix in 08. He is a big use government as Jesus spender and I don't support his candidacy, but I have to respect his skill.

Before or after she's criminally indicted?

I'm just going to say it: That would make you a ****** father.

No, approving of a lifestyle that's clearly a sin would make me a ****** father. My kid's would always be welcome in my home and I would love them. Their sins have to remain outside my home.

...and the world was once flat....

I like poos more than you can imagine (chucky sheen knows)......that's just beyond why this debate and the questions being asked are of equal tard.....

fk'n social issues???????? you gotta shittin' me....

paul and rubio are getting my vote....

the rest are unacceptable....

I want a negotiator with a plan......

Watch out. I learned by watching the republican forum on Monday night that Rubio wants access to all your data. He's a big proponent of warrentless wire taps and such.

politicians will be politicians.....can't escape it....

1984 is going to happen regardless.....you can thank the media for the fear mongering about isis for accelerating that.....

if I could take trump's talking points, rubio's savvy, rand's ability to understand 'needs', and mold them into one?......that would be my ideal candidate.....

unfortunately, that guy doesn't exist.....at least not yet

last night was a proving ground for the rnc.....

I'm sticking with, "it's all part of the master plan"
Format was hortid, but how do you structure a debate with ten participants all wanting to chime in? I would have preferred three smaller debates with 5-6 participants. Have them concurrently so answers cant be planned out and all candidates could be asked yhe same questions.

Thought trump got his points out, but he lacks any sort of polish. Hope he goes away sooner rather than later but I do thimkmhis presence will force other candidates to be more straightforward. Not impressed with kasich, christie, bush, or walker. Disappointed walker didn't do better. Huck is a non starter, but has the polish and experience many are missing. Still like carson, but he's better suited as a vp candidate. Cruz and rubio impressed. Paul floundered, butbwould be a solid vp pick.
Trump cLled Frank Lutz a "low class slob."

Hillary will win without ever answering a question or staking a solid position. There are a lot of willfully ignorant voters in this country.

is he?

attacking the lutz putz is easily the message he is sending.....it's just one of many (refreshing povs) that he presents and why people are listening....

people are sick of rhetoric.....what's ironic is the donald can't intelligently defend his own posits with anything other than leading with the "I".....and it mirrors the populous....

people are so stupid.....

the bulk doesn't have the capacity to understand 'matter'.....yet, each has a vote...and that base is continually growing....

if I couldn't (produce), joining the bandwagon of chuggin' 44s is the only option....

simple human behavior is all that is...
Interesting that left and left-leaning media (e.g. Slate and Rolling Stone) are anointing Trump the winner. Wishful thinking on their part IMO.

they're beggin' for it.....h. vs trump.....

that's dollars to be made.....
Didn't get a chance to watch the debate because I had to go to a friend's dad's wake and I don't have time to read through this whole thread so sorry if this has already been discussed. But a friend just told me the first question to Trump was if he didn't get the GOP nod, would he run as a third-party candidate and would he endorse the GOP candidate. Is that true? Really? What does that have to do with his stances or whether he'd be a good nominee and president? I'm not a Trump fan, politically, because our views don't line up, but that seems like a rail-job. I mean it sounds as if the very first question to Trump in the very first debate was, essentially, will you toe the party line?

Anyone who watched have insight?

It was THE seminal question and needed to be asked.

I'd put Luntz in the "fat slob" category myself.

Personally, I hate it when people don't fit in their shirts and think the tie will cover up the fact the top button isn't buttoned.
My opinion which no one will agree with.

Biggest Loser - Kasich. I'm a Kasich supporter but I knew that he had to hit a home run in this debate to get any traction. He did well but I'm afraid not enough to generate any real buzz.

Losers - Cruz for a lousy performance. Carson because he has shown he has no reason to be there.

Treading water - Paul, Huckabee, Bush, Walker

Helped themselves - Rubio and Christie

Big winner - Trump because he didn't make a fool of himself and probably hung on to his support.

The most impressive performance was Rubio. The kid is looking better every day.

Some observations on appearances. Kasich looked old and tired. Walker looked like a high school kid. Trump should learn to smile and ditch that scowl. Bush looked terribly uncomfortable. Christie's weight is not a distraction it once was. Paul looks like the kid you want to give a wedgie.
This whole thing makes me sad.
