Oregon

It's a schedule designed to doom brady to failure. Only three OOC D1 home games, (NDSU, Jackson State, UCA) The worst 48 hour road trip imaginable with a game at Oregon on a Thursday night, followed by a Saturday Afternoon game in Waco.

Not to mention we've got a trip to Savannah State and the MEAC refs in there.

The only way that the Oregon/Waco trip could possibly work is if the team has a charter to go to all sites. Otherwise the games will be over before tipoff.

Holy crap...why does it seem like you guys travel to a MEAC/SWAC school every year? Didn't y'all lose to Jackson State on the road last year? Wasn't that enough of a lesson not to repeat that?

2 years ago and we actually beat them that day. Trailed the entire game, but came back and won late.

We pretty much have to take these games. School won't invest any money in basketball, so Brady has to take 3 high dollar money games a year, and we can't pay to bring a D1 school in for a guarantee. That means lots of road trips to MEAC and SWAC schools

Administration pretty much decided a couple years ago that basketball was not worth trying to save until Brady's contract ran out, and when we do hire a new coach next season, the investment will likely be minimal until the team can prove it's worth watching. The new hire will be out of the UALR book of new coach hires, a D2 guy with a good resume, but no D1 experience so he won't expect command a huge salary, allowing the saved money to be put back into the basketball program, or funneled over to baseball stadium improvements.

I've heard Brady is gone regardless. That he already has bought a house/condo in New Orleans. We would have been in the same position, if we didn't hire a new AD with the balls to make a change. I think highly of your AD as well, but a change was less crucial since you have a winning football team that takes the heat and spotlight off of basketball. Basketball is the be all end all, for us. You're overall program will be fine, even hanging on to Brady for another year. I don't think Chasse Conque was in a position where he could wait another year.
