I just did. How many more times will we see this happen and simply shrug our shoulders.
We don't know what happened yet, do we?
We know someone got shot and someone died. Unless he is diliberately being misleading.

It's a little sparse on detail at this point, is what I was asking. With the word "indictment" I'd assume the cop was in the wrong based on the evidence but I'm not drawing any conclusions until we know more.

Yeah, I mean, what do people want? A cop murders someone and gets prosecuted for it. Isn't that what is supposed to happen?

Keep in mind that a Grand Jury indictment does not mean someone "was in the wrong". All it means is that there is enough evidence to pursue a criminal trial against an individual. The burden of proof is still on the state to prove a crime was committed.

This case in a nutshell, the deceased is an African-American male in his 40s. He was driving around late at night without a front license plate (required by law in Ohio). He was pulled over by a University of Cincinnati Police Officer. The deceased did not have a valid driver's license and had an open container which he handed to the officer. A verbal and physical altercationn of some sort took place. The facts from here are murky. The police officer has indicated he shot the deceased as he was being dragged by the car. The family of the deceased states he would not do something like this. Apparently the police body cam is being released to the public today. The DA has a press conference set for 1pm.

If population was decreased then the shootings will decrease.

More people, more problems

Next question

I totally agree. Statistically speaking, cops almost NEVER murder anyone.

Ohio Cop Indicted On Murder Charge In Traffic-Stop Shooting

Quote:CINCINNATI (AP) -- A University of Cincinnati officer who shot a motorist during a traffic stop over a missing front license plate has been indicted on murder charges, a prosecutor said Wednesday, adding that the officer "purposely killed him" and "should never have been a police officer."

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters announced the grand jury indictment at a news conference to discuss developments in the investigation into the July 19 shooting of 43-year-old motorist Samuel DuBose by Officer Ray Tensing.

Tensing has said he was dragged by DuBose's car and forced to shoot after he pulled over DuBose for a missing front license plate, according to a university police report. Tensing said in his radio call to a dispatcher that the car almost ran over him and he fired one shot, striking DuBose in the head.

Not to diminish the death, but the front license plate law in Ohio is idiotic.
Guess Schools are going to have to start teaching Young people attitude adjustments this fall Fit. Start with Your classes and You explain to Them it is Wrong to act like a Bad A$$ to a cop. Don't try to run Him over, runaway from Him, Shoot Him and just answer the Questions He asks of You. Act Civil and You will live another day.
Cincy police chief also said that campus police pulling people over for not having a license plate is not in their jurisdiction.

Enforcing it is.
The video is sickening...

Dude turned his car on, started to moved it forward and the officer shot him.

Just disgusting.
If I were the Cincy Mayor Id be calling the Governor and ask for 750-1000 National Guardsmen be deployed ASAP.

There's going to be some really POed people on the streets tonight.
