Noon Wed. On espn3
Hopefully they'll have it available Wednesday night as a replay.
Get to watch Baddaboom, Baddabing trying to make a splash.
I had the privileged of attending MAC football Media Day back in 2003. It was a great time, a MAC party.
Media poll released!

West Division:
1. Toledo (11) 121
2. Western Michigan (8) 120
3. Northern Illinois (4) 113
4. Ball State 66
5. Central Michigan (1) 56
6. Eastern Michigan 28

East Division:
1. Bowling Green (18) 160
T2. Ohio (1) 118
T2. Akron (2) 118
4. UMass (3) 113
5. Buffalo 70
6. Miami 47
7. Kent State 46

Championship game winner: Toledo (9); Western Michigan (8); Northern Illinois (6); Central Michigan (1).

Thoughts: NIU fans are butthurt...lol. The East is a crapshoot. Surprised UMass isn't higher. Kent State in last place surprised me, they have a ton of returning experience. Also, someone STILL picked CMU to win the MAC. Happens every single year...
Very interesting.

And per his usual, Nate Schneider voting for his home-town Chips to take the division and win the MAC. 03-lmfao

So objective they are up there.

Not really. Most of us love it. Our team thrives on this kind of stuff. We've learned to just pay attention to the rankings at the end of the season.

That's good, and for what it's worth I wouldn't put WMU above NIU right now. Of course this is a preseason poll so it's all speculation, but NIU has proven time and again to defy the odds. No idea why people keep overlooking them.

I agree that NIU should be higher until WMU proves it should not be. However, NIU certainly is beatable. This is a program that got pushed around by CMU last fall. 01-wingedeagle

While NIU should be ranked higher than WMU this preseason, I think this is the year we break the Huskie's back with a convincing win. Let'em have their PRE-season ranking. I'll take finishing ahead of them at the END of the season.
I'd probably go...

West Division:
1. Toledo
2. NIU
3. WMU
4. Ball St.
5. CMU
6. EMU

East Division:
1. BGSU
2. Ohio
3. Miami
4. UMass
5. Akron
6. Buffalo
7. Kent State

Miami that high?
Anyone else having issues watching it on ESPN3? It is the MAC... so we likely are getting the ESPN3 B-team running the show... not surprised.

It's working now. The sound was really quiet for a little while, but they just turned it up.

IMHO, the East is wide open. I'm not even that confident in BGSU winning it.

Yeah, Jordan Lynch is rolling in his (Canadian) grave right about now after seeing that...

Wow, Miami at #3? Say it ain't so!

Mine:
WEST:
1. Toledo
2. NIU
3. WMU
4. BSU
5. CMU
6. EMU

EAST:
1. BGSU
2. Ohio
3. UMass
3. Akron
5. Buffalo
5. Miami
7. Kent State (The EMU of the East)
I have UMass as my dark horse winner of the East. Especially if they get the same mojo back they had at the beginning of last year and improve just a bit (lost at Colorado by 3, lost at Vanderbilt by 3, lost to BGSU by 5). Not sure how they blew that lead vs Miami though.

I'm applying the early 00s Marshall rule to NIU: I pick them divisional champs until I'm proven otherwise.
Not surprised they picked Toledo. Toledo always seems to be that 'it's a safe pick but isn't too obvious (like NIU) or still a possible wildcard (WMU).

I'd go:
1.) NIU (until they're finally knocked off in the West, I don't see how you can pick against them)
2.) WMU
3.) UT
4.) EMU (yes)
5.) CMU
6.) BSU

1.) Ohio
2.) BGSU
3.) Akron
4.) UB
5.) UMass
6.) KSU
7.) Miami
Ball State last and Buffalo over UMass? You're high as a kite.
I am higher on Kent State than most. A healthy Durham and an experienced QB. Also like UMass in a league where offense wins. No way EMU escapes the basement and I have no idea what CMU is this year.
Ha!
