He reported to the team last summer but was injured before the season started so his roster spot went to an active guy.
45 new names just on the roster since January...WOW. I don't know how to think about that.
Count only 11 O-Linemen that are not true freshmen:

Dale Brown, Big Ron, Conlon, Evans, Howard, Myers, Ness, Ruka, Scharping, Shively, Smith

There will be at least 4 RS FR on the O-Line 2-deep and there's not much depth if injuries happen. Also, they have Smith listed as a RS SO, but he's only a RS FR, I believe.

Allen's still on the team, but there's still no 2014 stats for him. Maybe it's an oversight, or maybe there's just nothing to put there because he was hurt for almost the entire year.

As for Lemon, that will be something to keep an eye on going forward.

120 total players, 42 true freshmen.

Yikes! And I thought we were young last year....
I count 15 LBs and 15 WRs on the roster.
New numbers. Some have been mentioned in previous threads:

1 - Albert Smalls
3 - Ezra Saffold
4 - Christian Blake
6 - Bobby Jones IV
7 - Desroy Maxwell

I'm with HuskieJohn on this one. I don't know if this is good or not. What do you even do with 42 freshman players? Is NIU starting a JV team?

Honestly, I don't think it means much at this point. All it says is that there's a lot of young guys that are trying to earn their spot in the future. A lot of them probably won't be on the team past this season.

Barring injuries, we should have a fairly good grasp of the 2-deep on both sides of the ball based on what it was last year.

I count 13 seniors including Lemon. We will be very, very young next season also!
Is this a surprise? Why were people expecting more seniors to pop up and where were we expecting them to come from lol.

I guess I'm baffled why everyone is surprised at the youth. Didn't we already know this was kind of a rebuilding year going in

Huh? Last year was the rebuilding year.

Just so everyone knows, there is always a ton of freshmen on the roster. They weed their way out as they age. Relax.

Only MD could call this a rebuilding year and insinuate that everyone thought that. And yeah...someone save this list of freshman and see how many of them are on next fall's roster

Mike Smith is indeed a Redshirt Sophomore. He spent a year at Grand Valley State before coming to NIU.
Safety Nate Godwin looks pretty good to me on film.

Thought 105 on roster was maximum allowed. I think we probably have as many walk-ons as scholarship players in the freshman class.

For a Huskies "fan" you sure have little faith. You keep talking up UNLV and predicting Toledo (as usual) to be great. Now you call this a rebuilding year. I'm sure you're prepared to give everyone the "I told you so..." speech if the Huskies have a down year.
