that was one weird press conference this week.
Despite the denials by many, the SEC not having a champion for the past two years is definitely weighing heavily upon the shoulders of these coaches. For me that just seems crazy but hey, that's the SEC I guess. That's what comes with that intense popularity in the region.
Spurrier knows this is the last go around and doesn't want to exit South Carolina on a down turn. He's just trying to hold his team together enough to go out on a high note.

I don't see how any recruit watching that press conference could have been convinced to go to SC. basically bragging about himself and it seemed desperate. I don't think most people think he is too old to coach but he made himself look old with that press conference.

True. But he is not trying to lure recruits as much as he is just trying to instill confidence in his program.
