My wife and I met Travis Whipple, the new assistant AD. Looks to be about 30, same as Chasse. My wife commented how great it is to have new, enthusiastic, and young folks running our program. We all know what a tough sell UALR has been in our community. But, if anyone can sell it, I believe these young guys can. I love the "I've got mine" campaign. Things won't change overnight, but with persistence and hard work I think we can start to make some inroads in the community.
As in Field of Dreams, "If you build it they will come." And if you win they will come. That's the bottom line. If you play exciting basketball and win, attendance will pick up. As mjs said, it won't happen over night, but the drop didn't happen over night either. It dropped slowly for twelve years of basically dull, boring, and mediocre college basketball.
Team expectations are that this year there will be a few near sell outs. Wow wouldn't that be great.

Now I wouldn't go quite that far. That's what you call going out on a limb..........way out near the end.

Well if you and Dollarbill bring someone and those someones bring someone etc....

At any rate if we can start off with a bang (I mean wins) it will get more exciting and the more exciting the easier to get someone to accept your invite. If we start off the other way, not so easy.

I do like your enthusiasm, and the enthusiasm of most all on this board. I hope we see a big change in the play on the court, and the attendance, and I hope we get some rowdy fans that can raise hell, since we older folks can't raise that kind of hell anymore.
Also heard that Coach Beard is ok with any player taking his shot if he is comfortable in making it. If a player has a certain shot he does well in practice he is free to use it anytime in the games but he better be out practicing that shot everyday.
Looking forward to playing a good early season team on the road with TV and upsetting them. Do that and the rest is easy.
