Looks about right to me, but we all know end of season will be completely different, would be fun to look at last seasons preseason coaches poll compared to final standings...Only difference I would have would be FIU 3rd, FAU 4th and MTSU 5th, other than that hard to argue with media's preseason view of how CUSA will shake out..
The media picked not the coaches. We will just have to prove the conference wrong.
This was last year's prediction:

PREDICTED ORDER OF FINISH

EAST DIVISION Pts
1. Marshall 91
2. Middle Tennessee 73
3. Florida Atlantic 60
4. WKU 57
5. Old Dominion 33
6. UAB 31
7. FIU 19

WEST DIVISION Pts
1. North Texas 66
2. Rice 65
3. UTSA 62
4. Louisiana Tech 38
5. Southern Miss 24
6. UTEP 18

They missed big on La Tech, North Texas, UAB, and UTEP. Who will it be this year?
I'd put FAU over Middle Tennessee and ODU over FIU. Everything else looks about what I'd set it to be.
So who were these media members? How many were there?

K, no.
WKU should be the favorite. Same with La Tech in the West.

Right now, I'm sure 5 or 6 teams think they should win it. The season can't get here fast enough.
I count every day that we get closer to Football season. September cannot come fast enough.

Agreed. It's been a long dead period. One thing is for sure though: CUSA is a strong league this year. Just worried all the teams beating each other up in conference will not reflect just how strong we are.

This will always be an issue. Hopefully we can score some P5 upsets early to counter that issue. WKU plays Vandy, Marshall plays Purdue and Tech plays K-state. There are some very good opportunities to win some good OOC games.
We just need to go by the Ric Flair motto when picking preseason champions, "To be the man, you gotta beat the man. Woooo!"
I just hope we at least break even or better....Small moves....small moves....
Here's mine FWIW...

EAST DIVISION
1. Marshall
2. Middle Tennessee
3. WKU
4. Florida Atlantic
5. FIU
6. Old Dominion
7. Charlotte

WEST DIVISION
1. Rice
2. Louisiana Tech
3. UTEP
T4. North Texas
T4. Southern Miss
6. UTSA
No surprise from a MTCC fan
We would have been picked about 3rd in the west, I think. FireRayWatts

It's not personal. I may be one of the only people looking at this objectively.

As I have said you cannot win a championship in this league without being at or near the top in a number of defensive statistical categories. No one has yet to provide how the toppers are going to improve enough defensively to win the east. Lastly, on your team I have also said this before. The blue print is out on how frustrate and disrupt Doughty. The question is which teams will be able to do it? For this reason, I believe he is going to get hit a lot this year and if I were a fan up north I would be worried about keeping him healthy for the full season.

Further, as I have also said Marshall is loaded and though they have to do the hardest thing in college sports they have a good enough line and running game to overcome youth at the QB position. In staying consistent with the aforementioned, they will have the best defense in the league and thus are poised to an 8-0 conference record this year.

Lastly, I feel a lot better now than I did at this point a year ago about Middle Tennessee's roster. We have the most experienced two-deep in the league and our QB situation is much better now than it was going into the season. And one thing a lot of people don't know is that our first-year starting QB played with a shoulder injury the last four games of the season last year and they didn't want to play lil Stockstill to preserve his redshirt.
You never know. WKU may not be able to handle the preseason accolades and live up to expectations. I'm sure their fans are expecting a lot from them this year. It's a lot of pressure. Same with Louisiana Tech.

This is always my biggest fear.
