I think he's our top target at QB. He would be a good get. He could redshirt a year and then battle Brady for the spot
L'Ville and MSU will be tough comp.
Hopefully they both get higher rated QB prospects and maybe we can snag this guy.

My opinion:
MSU (team to beat) - has no '16 QB commitments to date; however very deep at position.
Louisville - has *4 star Odin committed for '16 (nephew 'I think' of former Tiger QB Bernard Odin. Lots of depth at position.
Minnesota - smoke screen
Memphis - limited quality depth. Will essentially compete with Brady Davis to play.

*if he is looking at depth he'll end up at Memphis. If he is looking to be P5, he'll be at MSU.

I agree I think State is the team to beat. They are deep & really like Nick Tiano, but they still need to take a QB in 16...no other choices jump off the page. They are recruiting Juwon Pass, but I think he ends up at Louisville - his brother plays there I believe.

If it comes down to State and us, I'd imagine he goes to State. He's exactly what that staff looks for...underrated local talent

Yep
He's not a take for MSU at this point. Not to say he isn't a good prospect, our QB depth chart is just full. We will have 4 QBs on scholarship in 2016.

I can see your point (4 is the magic # of a hollies to have at QB), as MSU will have the following to start the 2016 season:
- (1) RS FR
- (2) RS SO
- (1) SR
* I do see a JUCO QB being added to bridge the gap. However, a QB could be added if the staff feels a) an underclass man may transfer or b) they move an underclass man to another position (ie TE or WR) to get their athleticism on the field.

Louisville has (5) QBs lined up for 2016
- 2016 committ (Odin)
- (1) RS FR
- (2) SO
- (2) SR* I think 1 is a walk-on

On the other hand, I think we sign 2 QBs. I have yet to learn if Marcus Childers qualified as part of last year's class. Heading into 2016, our QB scholly depth would be:
- (1) RS FR - Brady
- (1) RS SO - Holgorsen
- (1) RS SR - Lynch

I get what you're saying and obviously no way to know what happens a year from now, but at this point, I don't see us taking a QB unless it's a highly touted guy.

Looking at the data (see revised post above), I'm actually encouraged about the Tiger's chances of landing him.
I think Damien bridges the gap between Dak and Tiano at State. Not sure they can sign a big name, instant starter.

Howard would fit well in Mullen's system, but if Memphis got him I think he could be really good!
Louisville just got a 4 star QB out of GA.....maybe you can take them off the list.....

How Loserville has both #11 Pass and #16 Oden (nephew of former Tiger QB Bernard Oden) dual-threat QBs committed.
For all the crap Memphis has gotten from Card fans about running a dirty program over the years, Louisville has to be one of the dirtiest football programs in the nation and has been since the early 00's.

Link?

Jk, but what makes you say that?
Louisville is like the halfway house of college football. There is literally no one Petrino will not welcome with open arms short of a murder charge . They take guys even SEC schools won't touch.

doubt it
QB Keon Howard was named to the CL's Dandy Dozen.

Quote:Where he's going: Howard released a top 4 of Mississippi State, Louisville, Memphis and Minnesota two weeks ago. The reason being that these schools see him as a quarterback at the next level and will allow him to actively pursue a role in his current position. A year ago Howard said that staying in state wasn't a huge priority. He's changed his mind on that quite a bit. Expect a decision in a few months.
