Quote:So, out of BYU and the members of the American Athletic Conference, Conference USA, MAC, Mountain West and Sun Belt, which two schools can hit that number?

For what it's worth, there sure is a lot of chatter again. I think what we may be witnessing is actually the beginning of the end of the Big12.
Was in Dallas this week, and on their local sports radio show, the topic was Big 12 expansion and the OU AD saying he wanted 12. BYU was mentioned of course, and they were throwing other teams around, including SMU, FSU, Cinnci, Louisville and Clemson. There was even mention of Nebraska coming back.

The end result is expansion is not just an SBC Topic, it's in the Big 12 too. Which means it's an FBS issue and far from over. The "experts" still believe we are headed to 16 team conferences.

No the Big 12 will be still around same as the MVC, Southern still survive from day's past.

My dad always said an expert was a guy who learned more and more about less and less until he knew everthing about nothing.
There is a lot of smoke out there. Effects on the Belt will take a while. AAC likely the first one hit. possibly along with BYU. AAC will go to CUSA for replacement, and CUSA will look to belt. No different this time than any other time. I don't buy the 4/16 thing. 5/1? is very likely.

I'm still not entirely convinced they are going to do anything, if they get permission to set up a league title game on their own.

Most of the Big 12's issues last year was not the lack of a title game, it was the fact that Baylor and TCU played absolutely awful OOC schedules.
I don't think anyone knows what the hell is going to happen, including the "so called experts", I think its a pointless discussion, because there is just way too many variables to consider, hell, its impossible to even come up with a viable time table, we could be talking in the next year major changes, or it might be 10 years before we see anything happen that would effect the SBC
B12 polled their players at their media day. One question was who they'd like to see added if they expanded. TXST got some props.

Name at least one school you would add to the Big 12.
Texas A&M: 22 percent
BYU: 17 percent
Houston: 11 percent
Nebraska: 11 percent

Also receiving votes: Arkansas, Boise State, Missouri, Oregon, Texas State, UCF, USC

And that poll therein lies the Big 12's problem. A&M and Nebraska are not getting in, and I'm not really sure BYU could.

FA SHIZZLE! 04-rock
I'm betting Arkansas doesn't, either. Those 3 schools burned bridges and I doubt they even want to go back.

Ditto with Missouri.

What the Big 12 wants and what the Big 12 can get are entirely different things.

Huhhhh . . That sounds very familiar . . . .
BYU: 17 percent
Houston: 11 percent

Also receiving votes: Boise State, Oregon, Texas State, UCF, USC

So, we're left with the above. If that's USC (as in Cali) I doubt they, nor Oregon, are leaving the PAC
Then we're left with:
BYU: 17 percent
Houston: 11 percent

Also receiving votes: Boise State, Texas State, UCF

I like our chances

CK would commit suicide if it was UH and TXST to get in 03-lmfao03-lmfao

Did you see the footnote about their concern as to how well TxState travels?

Bob and envy should never be used in the same sentence.

Face Palm
Why would they consider BYU when the Sun Belt won't consider Liberty? Just saying...
