I had the same thought after clicking on "join the 901" and got taken to ticket sales.

I was just at the Ticket Office picking up alumni game tix and asked the lady that questions .... She said all current season ticket holders are automatically members, and some form of communication should be coming out either shortly or with season ticket distributions .... Hope that helps ...
Is this just a new name for "The Highland 100"?

I don't think it has anything to do with the HH

Then why a rival / parallel organization?

HH is a booster club. I understand the 901 club to be more for general public to encourage season ticket purchases by offering perks for membership (ie purchasing season tix).

Maybe they don't think it's a rival?

This is my understanding as well. The HH is not directly affiliated with the U of M, and is a booster club strictly for Tiger football (as opposed to Tiger Athletics as a whole).

This 901 club is a perks program for season ticket holders.

901 is for the regular guys. I think it's a great idea that should have been done a long, long time ago.

HH is directly affiliated with the University in that there are rules and guidelines it must follow in helping the University and in contacts with players. It serves as a booster club for the U of M only at the will of the University.
