Note that it is not a home and home. We are paying them $75,000.

The champions of the Sun Belt is a buy game for us. 03-lmfao

This is turning into a pretty impressive schedule though.

You picked the right time to buy a win from them too.
To me, this is a great buy game. We should only go home and home with GA Tech. Still waiting for that fantasy to come to fruition.

Agreed. They still have Ware but Hunter and Harrow are now gone. Should be a great game.

Funny we went from almost having to join the Sun Belt to paying their best team to play us.

...and the ODU game isn't a paid game?

Maybe I am a little slow but is ODU playing Ga. State?

They also have Clayton from Charlotte sitting out a year as well.
Honestly I wouldn't mind a home and home with them too much-- ATL is close enough for us to travel well there and I think it'd be fun. But I understand not wanting to have to play them at their place.

But this is totally a game that I was clamoring for after this past march. I'm very excited, and I think a lot of people in town will be too.
The pick up in pace of recruiting and scheduling is indicative of the new stability of our athletic establishment after the reinstatement of football. All of the questions about conference membership and level of competition have been answered.

I don't see where anyone has said they don't want to play at their place. Just enjoying the fact that it is a buy game (which connotes dominance) rather than a home and home (which connotes equality).
Home & home could also connote encouraging supportive tolerance, but that is rare in P5 teams..

I love Georgia State and attend a lot of events on campus. But the MBB facilities are still at bottom-of-Atlantic-Sun level. UAB should not play there until things get better.
It was a lot of fun taking that crackerbox over a few years back.

Yeah. I'm happy with the road contests, and the tournament gives us a great game if we can get to Iowa state.(Illinois is at least a decent game I'm sure). Our rpi will be good if we win about half the road/neutral games and win at home. It doesn't look like a powerful schedule on paper, but it will be solid.

Sorta reminiscent of a few of our trips to Troy for MBB as well !
04-cheers
I really love it when their pep band music fits one of our cheers. Once in a while you get a band director who pulls those out of the rotation, but usually they don't and they get redder and redder as we use their music to get loud.
I bet this is part of a 2 for 1 with them guarantee first year, h/h next two years.

One of the funniest hijacks of a band I remember was at a great Midwest tournament in Cincinnati. We were playing Memphis and their band was playing their fight song, and the UAB band members started singing made up words to the Memphis fight song. It was something like "Here we sit like bears in the wilderness, bears in the wilderness, bears in the wilderness."

Total nonsense, but totally demeaning to the other team. Genius!
