The next day, we fire our HC. Thanks Guys!!!
We've already gotten one AD fired this year so if you're trying to get rid of your AD too, schedule NIU.
Dang is it too late to get you guys on the schedule? Honestly, this season for us has become a wash, but it would be ironic if our interim coach immediately found success.
You will have to go back to your running game to do that.

Glad to help. In fact a Southern fan told me before the game, "Don't want to say it to loud, but many fans hope UMass wins and we fire the HC."
It was a good day for both teams.
Note: Heard the IPF Center is going through the channels and could go out to bid this summer. Things always seem to take longer. AD, Ryan Bamford mentioned the IPF during the Temple game.
We are not expecting a win against App State, but there will be a good crowd there with last weeks win and band day. Hopefully we can start out next year with some more wins, which will bring sell-outs and finally some upgrades to McGuirk.
Thanks, this is the best win in recent years. Know App has some injuries, but to be fair, no one gave a rat's a$$ in the past that we started out playing each year against at least three P5 teams. We'd get the crap beat out us and played the rest of the season as walking wounded. Every would say UMass $ucks.
As pointed out on radio, this was an important measuring stick for UMass. Playing Georgia Southern and App State that we competed against in FCS national championship games. We beat both of them and 500 against teams, which moved up recently, like ourselves. We've been playing teams tighter and tighter but have a long way to go. We still have Mississippi State and BYU on the schedule. We also have an improving FIU team along with Maine.
Today's game was a nice change of pace and looking forward to the day that everyone stops calling UMass a bad team.

I was there with Ohio at one point so I know how that feels.
Totally different now, don't get much criticism but totally open to to it with the consistent under performing coaching staff. We have no business being anything less than undefeated on our schedule. 6-2 is a disappointment.

Ohio is not better than Purdue, especially week 2 Purdue. Ohio will not win the MAC either. Toledo, NIU, Western...

We beat Toledo and NIU the last times we played them.
We should have beaten Purdue on a rebuilding season for them. Wrong game plan.

Thanks. This is what MS head coach Mullen had to say.
Quote:HEAD COACH DAN MULLEN QUOTES
Opening Statement...
"Great win by our team today. We've not really been in a lot of tight games this year. Coming in to today, we knew we were in for a battle. I knew all week we were playing an excellent football team. They come in and played with a chip on their shoulder. Head coach Mark Whipple is a great football coach, and I've known him for a long time. They have been outscored by five total points on the season, and there are teams that are 6-2 and have outscored opponents by two points. We knew we would have our hands full. They came in and did a good job, so give them a lot of credit. We came in and made some mistakes that you cannot make. We turned the ball over. We gave up explosive plays and penalties at critical moments during the game that killed us. I really am proud of how our guys battled for four quarters. They came out in the second half and continued to make plays. We found ways to make plays to win there at the end."
How ever we are now down to our third string QB after playing 2 chippy teams in App State and Mississippi State, which both teams getting calls on targeting our first and second string QB. Comis came back and played and then was targeted again in a run, which were no SEC ref throw a flag. There was also a number of chippy hits to WR and RB.
