Odd debate I was having with some buddies the other day. It is slow time of year so why not toss it out there. The question is not what you prefer, but as a country, where do you think the sports ranks as far as popularity? THis started with a discussion on unc and the debate turned to their punishments that will be coming. I argued they are relevant in college athletics, but as a whole, college ball has fallen hard. If I ranked my sports it would be MLB, nfl, college bball, college football, and so on. But on the national level, where does college bball rank?

Nfl is clearly king. After that it is debatable. Here is what I think

Nfl
NCAA football
NBA
MLB
NCAA basketball
Nhl
NASCAR/PGA (niche audiences)

I pretty much agree, but I think I would move college basketball ahead of MLB.

1) NCAA/Olympic Wrestling
2) NCAA Football (now that ODU has a team)
3) NFL
4) MMA
5) NHL
6) NCAA Ice Hockey
7) PGA
8) Professional Bull Riding
9) Baseball (MLB & NCAA)
10) anything besides basketball...
